2.25 mil for 1 year... Come on, that's a great deal to have Plek, he is still a great shutdown man and a solid veteran center in a proper role. Many teams would jump on that, he's just not good for us because he will be played out of position.

I'm ok with this. We don't have any center propsects ready to make the club that he can steal time from, and we should be able to get another second round pick as long as he continues to be solid defensively

Doesn't he want to win? He can go be a 4th liner for a cup contender. You don't think he'll be a ticket seller, but one of our main problems is over loyatly to our decent veteran players. We glorify "decent" players in this franchise because the size / passion of our fanbase.

He was our 2nd best dman 2 seasons ago. Some would argue he was better on most nights than weber. Why should he be take peanuts. Pleks went from a 70 point center to barely being able to wrist a Gionta at the goalies chest. Never seen anyone reduce their linemates as badly as pleks. He will destroy any so called development for his wingers. Can't stand the tunnel vision turtleneck puckhog.

Can someone explain to me the need of this signing? DLR can make the job as the 4th center and maybe pk specialist. Wait for Pleky to be 2nd line center by December...

Maybe they will try to squeeze out another draft pick out of him at the deadline.
Maybe they like having him around for the young guys. He's pretty well known for his professionalism. He one of those "first guy at practice" kind of breed.
I just hope he doesn't take ice time away from any young guy who could be showing something. Otherwise, whatever.
