Knowing what we know now? (That include the cap not going up as they anticipated, Toews' play falling off and then his illness)I would definitely not do the contract.

EDIT: As well. Assuming no major injuries (or illness) to either player the style of play of each dictated that Toews had a good chance of burning out before Kane. I'm hoping Toews can recover from this and has a few good years left. Kane, the floater, is still going strong so no surprise.

Not saying that at all. There were many contributors to those glory years, and Kaner was a big part of it but without Jonny's leadership I doubt it would have went down like it did. Hey, I realize that Kaner is your American hero but come on, quit with the denial.
