He’s a great player, but he does get overrated on here. He’s definitely not flawless. Glad we didn’t go 8x8 on a soon to be 31 yr old.

Petro was, is and will be a great player and I hope he raises another cup (though not before ROR raises another). Incredible Defenseman, a leader and I'll cherish the memories he made for us fans here. Best of luck in Vegas-that is, until we face them in the playoffs!

Not having that contract is probably best for the long term. It’s not a knock on Pietrangelo. I’m an Ottawa fan and would have traded Karlsson for free over that 11.5 mil deal, let alone get Norris Balcers Stützle and company.

Congrats to Petro for the contract he received. It's absolutely reasonable to second-guess the Blues for not being willing to offer what somebody else was willing to in order to steal their best player. Sometimes you've got to play defense and protect what is yours.

I would've been happy if they found a way to make a deal work, but I'm not all that upset about him leaving. I still feel that if he really, really wanted to stay here and play out his career with the Blues and not uproot his family, he could've bent on his demands and agreed to roughly the same $$$ and lived with the partial NMC that was offered. It's not like Army or the Blues have a habit of buying out old players and kicking them to the curb. Sounds like both parties were too stubborn to make things happen. Grateful for his part he played in giving us our first championship, but I'm ready to see how the new roster is finalized. LGB!

As much as Vegas loves getting shiny new toys I say Pietrangelo will not play 6 years in Vegas let alone 7. If they can’t force him into accepting a trade they will buy him out. Then this entire weird fascination with a NMC will be a moot point
