There are plently of reasons:

#1 being that Sharks have no NHL capable goalie in the system other than Dell so they are working on a resign
#2 Not getting any good offers. If nobody wants him or where only offering a 7th not much reason to move him

While I acknowledge your points, they are both horrible lines of thinking and if anyone in the org is truly thinking that then they should be fired immediately.

#1 - Dell is not a starting goalie and if they are actually working on an extension then that ensures that we are going to suck again next year.

#2 - Any asset is better than no asset. Don't care if it is a 7th in 2037. It is still more than you get by letting him expire as a UFA for nothing.

Davidson can’t play in AHL this season (why?) so he will be on Sharks’ roster. Probably we traded D with Goodrow or in other trade.

Amazing how someone can be so upset when we just got a first round pick for a 4th liner and a potential 2nd (definite 3rd) for a 42 year old who has 10 goals and we acquired for free this season.
