I chime in and say 2 minutes roughing. Still don't get that in a pre-season game. Does he need to fight for his roster spot?
I haven't seen him do this before I don't see him play much,,but I wonder if he does it to players who are likely to drop the gloves.I somehow doubt it!It's a bit of a weird move tbh, I don't think many players use that, but I've seen Subban do this "punch hit" a couple of times (notoriously against McKinnon). I guess it's easily a roughing if he swings it hard enough. Bit of a jerk move (I could see some tougher players getting upset about it) but not suspension worthy obviously.
Still no wind up. Just follow through when throwing him downExcuse to post this

so it's okay to punch other players as long it's not in the head?
right, but since you can injure a player doing this, shouldn't there be a 5 min penalty for this violent punch.... just poking someone with your stick usually get you 5 mins. this punch should give the bastardo subban 5 minsNo, it's called roughing and there is a 2 minute penalty for it.
That doesn't look like some little corner back he's tossing aside either.Yeah but the point is look at that

Look at Aho's right leg in that replay. It's almost a slewfoot type move where Subban's knee is behind Aho's, leaving Aho with only one skate in contact with the ice as he's being pushed backward. No matter how big you are, that's an uncontrolled topple.
It's similar to this hit, but Subban was at a different angle.
