Stars win 4-3

Seguin and Radulov with the shootout goals

Well this game turned around quickly, and a large part of that is because of Joe Pavelski. Let's get this season going

And Stars win in the shootout. 4-3-0 record in pre-season. Whatever

Heiskanen is your Stars points leader for the preseason with 3 assists

Saw someone said Benn had a goal and 2 assists tonight but so far he only has credit for the goal and 1 assist so

Entire top line had a goal and an assist tonight

Now we can get that regular season thread going

If Pre-Season is any indication than Sekera is actually pretty healthy and ready to contribute to a good team in a meaningful way again. Hope that can hold up.

More than Perry at least.

Wonder when we're gonna trade Honka. Seems more and more like we're going to lose him for virtually nothing.

Doesn't seems there's any interest outside of teams trying to do a player for player swap with someone they want to dump. Stars can't do that though with under 100k capspace.

Nill must think he can still get a pick or something (maybe waiting to see if we need better depth forwards?), or else I feel like he would’ve done him a favor and just moved him for nothing to a team where he could get a chance.

Chances Nill acquires him to be our top 4 dman next to Miro?

Honestly though I'd rather pick up Connauton off waivers than play Polak in our top 4

Trading for Johnson would really strain the limits of my fandom for the Stars.

Stars are not trading for Johnson. They'd have to package Hanzal for that to work and Johnsons 4 years are just a big no no for the Stars salary structure.

Also Connauton is not very good.

By the way Polak will not play top 4 for the Stars . If last night is any indication ( and it probably is as the last pre-season game ) Polak will play 5on5 with Miro to protect Polak but Sekera is going to play fourth most minutes on the defense. The pairings are structured this way to protect Polak and Oleksiak when they have to play 5on5 .

Lots of interesting players hitting waivers today...Ho-Sang, Hickey, Goldobin, Baertschi etc all expected be on waivers

Wish we could trade Janmark and grab Baertschi

Stars can't pick up players from waivers without putting Hanzal on LTIR and that ain't worth it .

Also Baertschi costs $3,366,666 . Can't trade Janmarks $2.3 Million for that.

Just no capspace for that. Stars are capped out. Can't make any moves without LTIR and thats not worth it right now.

Baertschi is also a walking injury.

Interesting names, but no one worth us picking up for now.

Not that with just 12 available forwards there's too many things they could do differently.

The players in the top 6 seem pretty locked in, the third line is unlikely to change until it breaks, and with the injuries, the 4th line is stuck. Nothing to really see or analyze until Perry comes back, and even then it wouldn't surprise me if he rides the pressbox for a while. Gurianov isn't great, but I think Perry is worse.

Dowling, yuck. I don't think Dowling hurts the team but he doesn't do anything good either. Really wish we could pick someone up to replace him.
