Pretty neat.

Shapiros articles about Finland , Miro and Hintz are also pretty great as well by the way if you have an Athletic subscription.

Couple of Sportsnet writers have us winning the Cup as well (one of which is Elliote Friedman).

A couple also have Klingberg winning the Norris, a bunch with Bishop winning the Vezina, and 5 or so I think have the Stars winning the West

I'm still not convinced the Stars can score any higher than the bottom 25% of the league, but we'll see. If that is a problem, we'll definitely need another Vezina-type season.

Pavelski will help the offense. Even if he drops off from prior seasons, he will add 20+ goals that simply weren't on the roster last season.

I'm not expecting a huge leap because it still looks like the bottom of the roster will produce nothing, but they should be up into more of the middle of the pack.

It's more important the 3rd and 4th line aren't defensively liabilities and scoring there is secondary . Last year at times those lines got scored on too much and because of it there was a ton of shuffling.

If the top 6 produces and the bottom six doesn't get scored on a ton the team should be good.

No Gurianov is kinda a shame. Powerplay is the only spot he felt useful in

That 2nd unit will never work unless they get a clean zone entry or win an OZ faceoff

Heiskanen will give them great entry after great entry and they’ll f*** every single one of them up

Just role with 2D on the first unit

I feel like only in 2014-15 people were penciling the Stars in as cup winners though

There definitely were some in 2016-2017, after the season we had. Most people who actually followed the team saw the massive dip on defense, but it seems like a lot of the general public ignored that.

makes sense

idk why members of the media expect a low scoring team with an aging starting goalie to win the cup

Is a better option being left out?

For me the bigger surprise is Lindell playing over Sekera.

Thats to me looks like a shooting defensive setup on the PP with both Lindell and Heiskanen beeing threats to score with their shots. Radulov and Dowling as primary playmakers and Faksa standing in front of the net.

Yes, per CapFriendly. So we get the spare roster spot but not the cap relief. We haven’t called anyone up because we only have 75K in cap space.

Since they're so close to the cap we'll see alot of tinkering with LTIR and back for when the team needs an extra and when he goes back. On 75k capspace they can't afford to call somebody up.

Well and also because of the bonus money that could slide over into next year.
