This season nothing would surprise me! This is the first year that the NHL has a second chance bracket after the first round.

TB gone, Calgary look just about done. Bruins and Sharks both down 3-2. Caps tied but Carolina has all the momentum right now. Crazy to think 5 of the top 6 teams in terms of standing might be gone after Rd. 1.

I've said it before but trying to evaluate the chances of playoff success based on regular season point totals is never been more useless. 16 teams make it, and all 16 are quality teams that can defeat the other if things fall right for them.
