At the Blues-Avalanche game right now and Colorado is worse than anything I've seen from Buffalo this year. Two shots on goal through 20min including a PP. They look slow and disinterested which is weird with where they are in the standings. Don't think the Blues are dropping points here tonight unless the Avalanche have some amphetamines in the dressing room for intermission

St. Louis pick is definitely getting traded to the Ducks...

Dumbest trade condition ever.

2 games to go.

Blues could really fall anywhere from 17th overall if they lose out to about 25th overall (25 is looking at league standings, not factoring playoff format if that is an issue).

Sharks are basically anywhere in the 20s. Who knows how well they’re playoff run goes.

That’s like giving up another 2nd in the trade for no friggin reason. What the duck was Botts doing to agree to that bullshit condition. It’s not like Anaheim wasn’t making that trade without it either.

Who knows but it’s still a very reasonable price for Montour and the gap between St. Louis and San Jose is looking like 3 or 4 picks anyways

is the answer jesus

It really shouldn't surprise anyone. Botterill is an idiot. Look no further than the O'Reilly trade. Vet GM takes him to the cleaners. At least with the Montour trade we got a good piece back, but a smart vet GM maximized his return on a guy he deemed expendable. Botterill isn't smart enough to put his foot down and not agree to the condition and now we essentially moved down the 1st round for no reason.

Can someone explain ?

Won’t the outcome of the playoffs determine their draft position?

Only those making the conference finals.

The ore pkayoff order

31-28 division winners high to low
27-16 other playoff teams high to low in points

After the playoffs

31 cup winner
30 cup loser
29 conference final loser with more pts
28 conference final loser with less points
Division winners not make no final 4
Pkayoff teams nit making final 4

In essence the 4 conference final teams are pulled out and order is compressed from 27 to 16
