No way he comes to windsor. If windsor makes trade i quitI can’t quote it anymore but in response to Soo Hound Girl’s question about where Hayton could end up if returned:
Windsor for Wyatt Johnston and a boatload of high draft picks.
If Peterborough then JR Avon and a boatload of draft picks.
If it was a package deal I could see Wale being included to either depending on the price.
Who hacked Paul's account?I believe the Hounds can still finish 1st over all in the conference or lead the league in points.
Anyone is in play for the best player in the league, including those two. Trading an impact rookie is hardly unprecedented for teams looking to make a run. Allan McShane is a good recent example.
Peterborough is the perfect storm for Hayton so you put McTavish on the table and don't budge. Other teams will pay up if they aren't serious about winning a title.
Hayton will never end up in Windsor - they will not be giving up any assets for a 1 and done player, this is not a go for it year in Windsor.I can’t quote it anymore but in response to Soo Hound Girl’s question about where Hayton could end up if returned:
Windsor for Wyatt Johnston and a boatload of high draft picks.

I think it’s Oshawa and Peterborough
McShane is not a good example. He was taken 19th overall to the OHL. Clarke and McTavish were both taken top 5 overall and are performing right away. Guys in the 10-20 range are the ones who get traded. Guys who go top 5 are not the ones flipped in their rookie season at the deadline
A guy who was drafted top 5 has been traded at the deadline of his rookie season one time in the last 20 years (that's 1/100 top 5 picks to get traded, literally 1%), and it was Ryan Kujawinski who had 1 goal in 29 games for Sarnia. It just doesn't happen, especially not if they're doing as well as Clarke and McTavish are
I never said that McShane was a top 5 pick. He was a key piece of his team that was putting up a lot of points for a rookie. That type of player has been and will be moved in the future.
The Greyhounds have Hayton so they will set the price. If Peterborough wants to play ball then so be it. If they don't then Raftis will keep him or move on to the next team. He hasn't hesitated to keep his stars when teams won't pay a fair price.
McShane was a bad example. You said McTavish on the table and don’t budge.
like gensupdates stated, top 5 picks don’t get traded at their first deadline. Break down Hayton’s value in picks; then, compare that to the return on the top defects. I doubt the Petes accept Hayton straight up for MacTavish.
I already explained that I wasn't comparing their draft position. I think that McTavish what you ask from Peterborough. Hayton is the best player in the league going to his hometown team. If there was ever a time to ask high then this is it.
If they aren't serious about getting him then Raftis will move on to other teams. He doesn't move players without getting fair value. He'll keep them if he doesn't and his track record has been consistent in that regard.
Hayton is coming back on condition we are trading him. If not Arizona will just recall Hayton. But he’s coming back for WJC then returning here for a trade. He’ll go to Peterborough for a load of picks. I don’t have any source. I don’t care to suggest I’m some inside asshat who is out to brag that they know before anyone else, rather than keep their information tight lipped and maintain trust to the one who told them. But I prefer to make predictions based what I observe across the league and what I think can be very, very likely to happen. If I’m right I’ll open up a rye bottle I bought several years ago and have a drink. If I’m wrong, I had fun playing. Let the most picks fill our cupboards!
If Arizona were to send Hayton back on condition of a trade to a contender, I doubt it would have anything to do with development issues in the Soo
More a case of them wanting him to play as much hockey as possible on a long playoff run.
Hmm half agree. He’s rated as the player to dominate the league if he returned. On a team where the coaching staff is relatively new in Major Jr, and there aren’t other higher caliber players on the team to motivate him to elevate to that level, he hasn’t much left to learn here. The Soo has fantastic development here. But he’s at his peak as to what the organization can bring. His next goal should be a very extensive playoff run. Learning to dominate or play consistently at a very high level in the OHL in a very competitive environment. We are not a deep round playoff team this year. That is where his next feat of strength should come from.
