Canada has a lot of offensive shortcomings (multiple games won or tied on pk's) but their commitment to defense cannot be ignored. They shut the US down and have shut Sweden down save for that one goal. Sweden coming into the game was steamrolling opposition (and they beat Australia 1-0, nearly 2-0). Before Australia Sweden had won every game by more than 1 goal.
Canada is hedging their bets on Labbe and a strong D to keep Sweden off the board. Sweden controlled possession and had a sustained attack on Canada all ET. But they could not break the tie.
Canada's best chance to win now comes in the shootout. Canada's offense was very subpar. Like all tourney, it will come down to PK's.
