the guy has been robbed of every scoring title between 07-08 and present... between high ankle sprains, david steckel, and errant oprik slapshots, crosby has been **** on by the hockey gods. according to the fruity ovie fanboys, sid thrusts himself into slapshots and elbows in order to pad his PPG.

i just want the guy to play 70+ games, win the scoring title by a sizable gap, and make those fans cut themselves. :handclap:

I'd say he's finally all the way back to where he was in 2010. The post concussion Sid went back to being a playmaker and wasn't nearly the goal scorer that he was in 2009-10 and the first half of 2010-11 before the concussion happened. I think he finally has his goal scoring touch back and the confidence to go to those dirty areas and pot tons of goals again.

Hes looking best of the world right know, early on the season. Imagine how he looks in middle of the season? Not maybe putting points 4per game, but absolutely dominating, and duper kunitz missing changes. Wow.

Let's be reality, he's no Giroux. He's got a Hell of a lot of work to do before he gets to that level of hocket player.

Ovechkin was the PPG leader for 2008, 2009 and 2010. Just sayin.

LOL.

If you look at the actual stats the domination of Crosby over everyone else, especially ovechkin is laughable.

2005-6: Crosby 1.26 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.31 PPG, .05 PPG difference

2006-7: Crosby 1.52 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.12 PPG, .40 PPG difference

2007-8: Crosby 1.36 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.37 PPG, .01 PPG difference

2008-09: Crosby 1.34 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.39 PPG, .05 PPG difference

2009-10: Crosby 1.35 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.51 PPG, .16 PPG difference

2010-11: Crosby 1.61 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.08 PPG, .53 PPG difference

2011-12: Crosby 1.68 PPG vs. Ovechkin .83 PPG, .85 PPG difference

20012-13: Crosby 1.56 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.17 PPG, .39 PPG difference

2013-14: Crosby 2.0 PPG vs. Ovechkin 1.29 PPG, .71 PPG difference

http://espn.go.com/nhl/statistics/player/_/stat/points/sort/avgPoints

1.52 points per game average for Crosby vs. 1.23 points per game average for Ovechkin over the last 9 years, .29 points a game difference. Ovechkin did outpoint Crosby a few times but except for one year it was a virtual tie those times. The years Crosby dominated he has really dominated..

So the next time that someone talks about Ovechkin's Harts meaning anything more than the dog crap they are worth in this discussion with his over half a point per game less career, tell them to stick them up their *****.

 It never fails to make me laugh. It was one of the worst things that idiot could have said about Giroux, he could never live up to it. There was one that summed it up recently,

DJ Gallo ‏@DJGalloESPN
Claude Giroux has 0 points in three games, all losses. When Crosby passed him the torch, he seems to have lit himself on fire with it.

whoooa, take a deep breath fella. Ovechkin had more PPG in 08, 09 and 10. That's all I'm saying. Don't go shooting strawmen all over the place here.

A bit misleading though, especially in 08 and 09 when the difference was 1/100th of a percent and 5/100th of a percent. Virtual tie.

Most of the years Crosby topped Ovechkin he has REALLY topped him, by a significant amount.

That context is important and it is what I was providing.

I'm not comparing Crosby and Ovechkin or anything. Someone said that Crosby was robbed of the Art Ross by injuries in a number of years, those years including 08, 09 and 10. I was just pointing out that, since Crosby wasn't even the PPG leader in these years, it's silly to say he was robbed of anything. He had a solid shot at the trophy, yes, but robbed ? No. Let's keep it real.

Ah more context.

Yes, I missed that part and was merely responding to the part regarding Ovechkin having a higher PPG. I merely wanted to point out how miniscule that difference was during those year.
