Seriously, who REALLY has a chance against the Pens?

Yeah, I'm with ya. One thing though... I already gave ya the NMC bit, so you were golden there. But what about UFAs? I can't for the life of me think of one that came to Pitty, just to play with Sid and Geno.

Tough to honestly say in this cap era who is or isn't an ideal UFA destination, to be honest. Teams seem to have room for a few big salaries and the rest is kind of patchwork. For instance, you'd think a team like Chicago - numerous recent cup wins, original 6 - would be a great destination, but they really don't have the cap space for it and are more shedding/managing the roster. So I don't really have a good answer on that one.

Edit: also keep in mind, more and more 'top cities' ranking thingies are rating Pitt these days as a top US city to live, so who knows?

Remember Pit-Rangers 3-1 in the series? Rangers won. Capitals are not done yet. To much talent and to good of a team to already say they are done.

The Penguins today aren't the Penguins of 2014 and the Capitals today sure as hell aren't the Rangers of 2014.

If the Caps do go down today I blame Backstrom and his "we are the clear underdog" crap. Why psych yourself out before a series regardless of past failures (for which him and Ovi are the only 2 constants in the last 10 years). Go down fighting for god sakes!

i remember that pens team being nowhere near as deep and talented as this one

though i think this caps team is much better than that rangers team, considering how well the caps have played aside from goaltending i think they can come back from 3 - 1 but it's a long shot

Crobby and Malgin can only take you so far when you have a horrific D like that without Letang. My goodness. Who approved this D?

Even if they win this series, that defense is going to get demolished by any of the remaining teams. Ottawa has more speed than Pittsburgh. They aren't winning the cup if they win game 7, too much hockey left to play and they look finished already.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Washington is one team that has a chance against the Penguins.

Anaheim or Edmonton would kill the Caps physically. Pittsburgh is a pretty soft team and even they are tuning them up in this series. Seriously, getting outhit by the pens is pathetic.

Not a knock on Pittsburgh, they are more of a finesse team with a little bit of sandpaper, Washington is a regular season specialist with no bite. Even Nashville can give them a run for their money physically and they are generally a smaller speedy team.

So what you're saying is you know nothing about the Capitals. Got it.

Physicality is so overrated.

I would say that Nashville or Washington have the best chance against the Penguins due to their superior goaltending. However, the Penguins are a strong team and it is going to take a repeat of tonight to finish them off in game seven.

I think offensively, the Oilers would be able to bring it to the Penguins. They lost their two season games, but were within a goal both times. Also, out of the 5 goals that the Oilers scored, McDavid got a point on four of them. This could be a series where McDavid could open up and be a game changer. The Western conference seem to know how to handle him better. I am not sure if the Oilers would win, but I think they would have a chance.
