I’m really not a fan of the whistles in the pocket approach to refereeing in the playoffs that still appears to be alive and well.

I honestly think that the game would improve if they called everything by the book all season and through the playoffs. If that means McDavid draws 9 penalties a game even during the regular season, so be it. It will force the players and coaching strategies to adapt and will create a lot more room for star players to be star players.

If you have to adjust the rules because the game gets too fast and dangerous then do that. But the rule book should reflect how the game is actually called. This sliding scale of subjectivity is frustrating.

I don’t think that added interference and uncalled hooks makes the playoffs more exciting. The intensity levels of the players going through the roof makes it exciting. “Letting the boys play” is a detriment.

Ridiculous that the rules just change after 6 months, never understood that.

You mean Jared mccann?! The same one who the Canucks drafted, is only 22 and now a multi cup winning franchise thinks is good enough to play with Malkin?!?!

Matthews once again continues his tradition of being a playoff choker. Extremely overrated and in the long run massively overpaid for years.

It's too bad, honestly. They're sure a well built team but something isn't clicking right now. Frustrating.

I hate this is somehow gonna be used as the example of “anything can happen if you get in”. Benning will quote the Jackets next year as to why they signed guys. Fml.

It really does feel like the 2012 Canucks in here

It's definitely worse for them after being the best team ever in the cap era, but man oh man are they getting severely outplayed by the Blue Jackets who look fast, deep, and organized.

Also, CBJ 2017 2nd rounder (yes, taken after Kole Lind) Alex Texier has stepped onto playoff roster and PP unit after going 7p in 7 AHL GP and 41P in 51 Finnish League games this year. Interesting story to keep tabs on.

Man I know this is has been beaten to death but I just shudder to think of what the Canucks as they're currently constructed would look like in this type of uber competitive hockey, Loui Eriksson would have to be escorted off the ice in a wheelchair lol
