Inter players have completely given up on the Campionato. Inzaghi is a muppet but so are the players.
I mean they are likely to have a 25% chance at UCL. They may as well waive the white flag in Serie A

Isn't it temporary decision while an appeal/re-trial is taking place?

Tough for Milan teams as they are now outside of the CL places.

How long is that expected to take though?

Once the CL starts for next year it seems like a retroactive points deduction wouldn't suddenly remove them from the competition.

So if the appeal can be pushed out another 3-4 months (which doesn't seem crazy) they might get to push it another year out or have it apply retroactively but not cost them CL revenue.

In other news, it was recognized that Lukaku was subject to racial abuse during the match against rube BUT his second yellow card was NOT taken back. Basically the victim of racial abuse is the only guilty party in this. f***ing bush league.

After international outcry, Lukaku's suspension has been "pardoned" by the Italian Football Federation boss. Just to note that this happened solely because there was heavy criticism about the whole situation, so the League first decided that Lukaku suspension was good (blunder) then after being blasted internationall backtracked and "pardoned" him... Pardoned? For standing up against racism?!? I repeat, BUSH LEAGUE.

Note: other players have been subject to racism this year and the matter has been ignored or swept under the carpet.

Empoli proving so far a worthy opponent to an Inter team that's going through the paradox of needing badly to win today but also resting half the team.

Inter with zero shots on net the first half, Empoli with 2 including a one on one against Handanovic.

Lukaku puts Inter ahead with their first (and so far only) shot on goal today. It was a really good shot though.

Empoli keeps leaving Lukaku to shoot unchallenged, and he bags another one. He was non-existant in the first 45, but he won the game by himself for Inter in the second half. Can't give him so much room around the box.

I'm not sure Napoli deserved that win. Di Maria's goal probably should have stood, the touch on the Napoli player's leg n midfield in the build up wasn't that much (the force can't be determined just by looking at VAR monitor). So that would have changed how rest of the match went.

Not that it matters in the end, Napoli will win the title in any case, now it just will be confirmed earlier.

In the race for the CL spots Milan keep the pace with other contenders. Rafael Leao with a good game scoring twice. Lecce just couldn't contain him.

Lukaku looks to be slowly regaining form, Brozovic as well.
It'd be quite funny if Inter found full form with the CL semis coming up.

On the other hand Maignan is back to his best and Leao seems on his way too. If both of these play to their full value Milan can go all the way in the CL.

And don't let the scoreline fool you, Inter was bad against Empoli.

Sounds like Esposito had a good match for Spezia as they got a much needed point. Hopefully they stay up so he’s in Serie A next season.

Another of the CL hopefuls lost as Roma was beaten by Atalanta today. Not sure why Atalanta decided to play such a hard tackling game towards the end of the match when they already had a comfortable lead.

Dybala was lucky he didn't injure himself badly (if that is indeed the case, he twisted his knee from a tackle from behind) and some other Roma players were forced off in tears. Roma will run out of starting calibre players at this rate.

Still a huge damper losing to Milan in UCL but they need to close out the Scudetto before some classic ridiculous Napoli shit happens.

After that, I’ll be rooting hard for Verona to be buried in Serie B then hopefully Serie C the year after.

I watched the game. They weren't brilliant, but it felt like a routine win.
I think they're a better team than Milan, they're my favorite in that tie.

Roma - Milan is goalless after first half.

Roma with better scoring chances so far. The most notable thing in the half were the many collisions between players.

Milan has been 2nd best throughout the match, so it's probably not undeserved, but still gutted to concede a 94th minute goal, Abraham scoring what looks to be the likely winner.

Milan now in serious danger to miss out next season's CL.

Edit: Wow, Saelemakers scoring.
