The worst Sampdoria side in history finally playing better now that they have nothing to play for anymore, as they're already relegated. Scored first against Empoli.

Empoli get an equalizer in overtime. Those poor Sampdoria fans can't have anything nice...

Then and there
Rafael Leao keeping their hopes alive as he puts Milan ahead against Samp with a placed shot after 10 mins.

Edit: early signs of a goal fest incoming, as first Quagliarella levels things up, but then Giroud heads Milan back ahead from a free kick after about 20 mins.

For a while it looked like 10-men Inter would steal a point away from Napoli as Lukaku equalised, but Napoli won 3-1 in the end.

Di Lorenzo's goal was a nice one for a defender to score.

Seems like they're alternating weeks being deducted and reimbursed.

The court will wait until after their Europa final to determine if they need to refund these points temporarily.

If they win, the court will let it stand since they'll have CL anyway. If they lose, they'll order it to be looked at again, letting them finish top 4 and it'll take long enough that this year is settled so they get a CL spot and kick the can to next year with a 7 point deduction from the beginning of the season or something.

Some important losses today regarding the CL spots as both Roma and Atalanta lose.

Inter secured the CL for next season with their win, so they can go into the final against ManCity without any extra pressure.

But I wonder what they will do with Skriniar, who has pretty much recovered from his injury but hasn't played at all since then and is set to leave the club at the end of season.

In a vacuum, he is much better player than the likes of D'Ambrosio or Acerbi, but if he doesn't play next weekend, then obviously he will be stapled to the bench in the final.

Didn't realize Serie A introduced a playoff in case of tied points, Hellas Verona will play Spezia in a single leg match to determine who stays up, but in typical Italian fashion they don't have the date yet nor the venue (supposed to be played on neutral venue). Had they done the traditional tie-break method, in Serie A its H2H so Spezia would have stayed up

Napoli, Lazio, Inter and Milan secure the CL for next season, Atalanta and Roma will go to the EL while Juve will play in the Conference League. Fiorentina are still in shot to qualify for the EL if they beat West Ham this week

The relegation playoff will be played Saturday at Sassuolo;s ground (Spezia vs. Hellas Verona); in the promotion playoff its Bari vs. Cagliari, with the first leg ending 1:1. In Italy there is no extra time or penalty kicks in the playoffs, if the aggregate it tied the higher seed goes through, in this case Bari, so Cagliari must win away from home

He was the first guy to really invest unprecedented money in football, and Serie A was the best league at that time when he bought Milan.

I would say he opened eyes for many businessmen to see the opportunities in football for fame and glory, and perhaps you could say he brought the creation of Premier League in this way.

Whatever his faults, the fact remains that Milan had their most successful period under his ownership.
