Spot on post all around. It doesn’t take an expert to see that Boudreau has an issue playing rookies and leans weirdly on certain players. Meh.it was a poor choice. You dont have to be a mathmatics wizard to understand that Petan hasn't scored in the NHL in over 3yrs and has had PP usage in that time.
Podkolzin has 14 goals this season...odd choice at that point in the SO
The fact we were in that position after missing so many chances is unfortunate
It was a poor against the odds decision. I get the logic that Petan has good hands but it would be like a baseball manager electing to put his season on a pinch hitter that hasn't hit on a left hander in forever and expecting him to clutch up against a left hander in a high pressure situation and get a hitSpot on post all around. Low bar. you're pumped about playing games where we are not mathematically out of the playoffs with 12 games left. Thats a terribly low expectation.
good teams take playoffs as a given, and are looking at how they are gonna win 16 in the playoffs. different standards.
Have you watched much of Petan? Do you know what kind of player he was in junior?it was a poor choice. You dont have to be a mathmatics wizard to understand that Petan hasn't scored in the NHL in over 3yrs and has had PP usage in that time.

Yes watched Petan in junior? That was 7 yrs agoHave you watched much of Petan? Do you know what kind of player he was in junior?
As @MS said, the reason he hasn't been a regular in the NHL isn't because of his hands. It's because he's not fast enough to offset his lack of size, and not big enough to offset his lack of speed. I wouldn't have argued with Podz as a choice, but Petan is very defensible. I expect Petan has probably performed well in shootouts in practice as well.
There are some conflicted sado-masochistic fans in the Canucks base. I suspect this happens everywhere. Your points are salient. Except. I disagree; We are a good team. Jim Benning made some good draft picks but killed us by over paying mediocre has beens. We're not a good team.
It's okay to enjoy a not that good team.
You seem to be against anyone enjoying the team at all. It's annoying.
How does being this negative about something you clearly put time into affect your life? It can't be good.

When i saw Petan come up my exact words were " Petan really.... he's not gonna score he hasn't scored in forever."
Wasn't surprised in the least he didn't
Unlike here?Oh Twitter said something blah blah blah. It is an appeal to non-authority.
He is not strong on his skates, which makes him ineffective against bigger, faster and stronger guysI mean…Petan was drafted 43rd overall. He was a highly touted offensive prospect and a force at the World Juniors. His offensive game has always been his calling card. It’s not like he’s some scrub - he just didn’t pan out as a top six player at the NHL level.
I don’t know if I’d have picked him in that moment, but I did feel he had a very strong game on the fourth line.

He is is minor league player. Even a below average team like ours has no room for him
Dries is a much better option. Not a big guy but fast and strong on his feet
Nothing is easy on a B2B.the thing is this is supposed to be the easy game.
we still have to play Wild, Flames, Oilers.
with an entire line missing and Demko looking fatigue, and Halak injured.
Even no playoffs I think lots of positives to bring for next year.
