I can live with it. 1-2 years in the 4.25-4.5 range was realistic. At least he didn't clock in closer to 5.
If he even comes close to duplicating his point total of last season its a decent price. Plus we don't have to get so desperate trying to find a center and either A) overpay or B) get someone inferior.
Hopefully he can improve his d play.

Also isn't the fact he can be exposed help us big time? in maybe not exposing a upward trending forward (hopefully) like Gauthier?

I am cool with this deal.

$4.5 is a fair price and I think it’s a moveable contract if he stays in the 55+ point range. As others have said, it’s also a potential expansion draft contract - either for the Rangers or someone else.

Now, Suburban Phoenix. Then, Long Island
I never thought Strome would sign for two years. Historically, that’s no mans land for a rising UFA.

Things are different now though. The Rangers traded money for term. I guess I can live with that.

He’s in a good position to be leap frogged by Chytil or moved to Seattle.

It puts him at an interesting, but not unheard of UFA age of 29 — essentially the same as Kreider was set to become.

Depending on how he does, there’s a decent chance he can work this into another solid multi-year deal in 2022.

88p/125g as a NYR.

26 years old. RHS.

Can play C or W.

Former top-5 pick.

If he had a deeper voice, manlier beard, or a sicccc flow I get why some of y’all would be in favor of keeping him.

He’s been nothing short of terrific during his tenure here. Yes, he does have chemistry with Panarin, but without his level Of skating and skill, the success wouldn’t be there.

I hope we find a way to keep him. Crazy how Gorton managed to flip lolSpooner for him.

Wow.

Wow?

You literally plucked a quote from me from a year ago.

And if you go back a year ago — he still put up 88P in 125G.

Here’s a more recent post of me regarding Strome:

DQ: Strome hasn’t found his game yet. Let me keep feeding him 20min a night until he does!

Also DQ: Kakko hasn’t found his game yet. DEMOTED!!!!

You want me to quote all the shit you said a year or two ago.....????????
