If he plays a mere 12-13 seasons and keep up this pace, he's gonna end up with like 3 000 career goals.

Guess what? That would but him at 1st all time, about 2 000 goal ahead of a certain Gretzky. Imagine if he plays 25 seasons!

I do think he could have played this year and done fine, which is why I could see him making the team next year as the 4th line center as we always rush our top prospects anyway and he's already got NHL size, skating, speed while working hard at both ends, finishes his checks, good playmaker. If he doesn't make it, I would say for certain he'll play some games next year.

Indeed. He was often compared to Mittelstatd who had 5 pts in his first 6 games. Buffalo fans lost their collective hats for him and the Sabres traded RoR to make room for him to be their 2c. Mittelstatd disappointed in year 2 not because he had a bad season but because the hype on him was just too great.

I'm still certain Poehling is our 2c. I'm higher on him than most people. I think he's a safe 50pt player. I just don't want the hype machine on him to roll too hard yet.
