At this point Raty > MDC is a very lukewarm, room temperature take.Hot take Raty has better talent than MDC
also I do agree that Nylander was on the board, MDC was a "safe" pick at the time

It looks like Boston will be heavily in on Getzlaf, and given that they haven’t re-signed Krejci yet, they could be giving Getzlaf a much larger role than he’d get here.

Not like Raty also played in a harder league while MDC, despite winning a memorial cup, still struggles as a player overall. In reality, what hurt MDC is his shot. He never improved itAt this point Raty > MDC is a very lukewarm, room temperature take.
Saw it from Pagnotta earlier today:Where did you see that Boston is in on him?
I mean if Getzlaf wants to sign here I'd let him take 3rd line C minutes. See where things settle out with he and Pageau. There are few players out there who can match Cizikas' intangibles, but Gatzlaf is one...And he wouldn't jam up our cap for years to come.
I still don't believe he's leaving, but he must be explored.
I was feeling pretty good about myself when I looked at the draft thread saw that I was negative for MDC and hoping for Nylander. But, unfortunately I was sorta positive towards Snow back in 2013.As we mourn the MDC that never was, here is the draft day thread from 2014. Props to you for that, looks like I was definitely team MDC and maybe Bennett if he fell to us. I love how many of us, myself included, did not want Draisaitl and were excited when Edmonton took him.I was feeling pretty good about myself when I looked at the draft thread saw that I was negative for MDC and hoping for Nylander. Since most of us admittedly know very little or have seen very little of any prospects before any draft - outside of what we read online or the highlights we watch on Youtube - we make our preferences based on minute details. Such as, does this player seem like good value based on the pundit's rankings? Does he look like a nice guy? Do we tear up watching their childhood backstory piece on TSN? It's a lot of silly and pointless things. A lot of us had Euro fatigue after the Niederreiter debacle and wanted a North American in 2014.man why didn't anyone want him back them?

Lou really is quiet
New prospect > existing players is the most banal HF Board take possible.
Good luck to MDC. Maybe he can go somewhere like Arizona and get a shot?
New, shiny toys are always the best until you break them.
