Benning for Brown
8th + Gagner + Manning (250k retained) for Rakell
2 2nds + Khaira for JT Miller + Stephens

Nuge/Drai - Mcdavid - Chiasson
Rakell - Drai/Nuge - Miller
Benson - Stephens - Brown
Lucic - Brodziak - Kassian

Sign Spurgeon next offseason for D

This would really fix our D . In a year or 2

Klefbom Spurgeon
Nurse Larsson
Jones Bouchard
Lagesson

No thanks unless they take Sekera or Lucic. Cant afford PK.

That I why I said we could only bring on PK if Lucic

I have no problem whatsoever with PKs price tag. Maybe slightly overpaid by 500K, but a true #1D

You offload Lucic (scrub depth player) and Russell (bottom pairing D), and you freed up more cap space than PK alone costs.

Id keep Sekera around though. Overpaid, but a great vet for Bouchard

Katz just needs to entice him to go away . Give his wife a job on the board of governs at 6 million a year for 4 years . She doesn't have to even show up . Waive Lucic for the purpose of termination of his contract
I've never heard that suggestion before. Brilliant! :)

I'm pretty sure there is something in the CBA against this. I remember when the CBA first came out there was concerns brought up that a Team could just pay family a chunk of money or give players endorsements through their other ventures.

Hmm, where would Eriksson slot in? He's almost just as buyout proof as Lucic.

Is he allowed to say that? Tampering? Or does that only work from a team perspective?

I think it's just managerial talking about specific players under contract.

Gaudreau said the same thing about playing in Philly one day.

If there's a time to do a Eriksson-Lucic swap it's this season. Eriksson's NTC kicks in 2020-2021. He has 1 year less than Lucic. He wouldn't need to be protected in expansion. For those reasons it makes sense for us.

And for those exact same reason, it doesn't make any sense for the Canucks. Why the hell would they make that trade?
