As a Flame hater, the only thing that bothers me is they are now a lock to finish last....and it will likely not even be close! Of course they could still lose the first in the lottery but they are gaurenteed a stud with Jones or MacKinnnon or Drouin......of course, aside from Bart, that is about all they will have for good young players and it will be years before they get near the playoffs!
Well if they get Jones, Lazar and Fucale with their 1st rders they would have some solid players to build around. Then if you project out they likely will be bottom of the league for next couple seasons so that could mean Ekblad and McDavid. Still guarantees nothing but battle of AB could be very fun to watch with all that talent versus our studs
Calgary's prospect cupboard is pretty bare. Years of bad drafting will do that for you... We should know.

Streit would seem to be a really good fit as a rental and potential long-term option if the Islanders are listening. Streit is really the only defenceman that would fit as a UFA in the off-season unless we're willing to look at lesser options like White or Ference.
On the other hand, the price might be pretty substantial and I wouldn't even be willing to entertain including the first rounder unless Streit would agree to an extension AND if a guy like Nielsen or Okposo was included in the deal.

No, Bishop is no more proven than Dubnyk. Paajarvi has been really coming along nicely and is a player that we need here.
