Cardiac Jerks
Asinine & immoral
I'm okay with this trade if we get another Seth Jarvis.
That late in the draft you’re more likely to get Meth Jarvis.

NHL is as scripted as the WWE, we are the land of misfit toys and a bunch of jerks to be the heel in the ECFAre we being conspired against by the other owners?
I feel like they make sure we never can make the kinds of trade we absolutely need.
Good to know that we'll be getting a Raleigh native to play for the Hurricanes. That late in the draft you’re more likely to get Meth Jarvis.

There are two more retention slots that we are allowed to use in trades. If the only reasonable trades available beyond Pettersson are for depth guys, I wonder if they plan to use them to get a couple more penny stocks in this upcoming draft. It may be deeply unsexy, but you just never know with the lower rounds. Usually you come up with nothing, but sometimes you get something very interesting.
A 6th round pick isn't worth a lot.I don’t think there’s such thing as a draft that didn’t have some late round gems. Doesn’t matter how bad the draft is.
Still….needle in a pile of needles at the sixth round.
After Super Bowl 50 I ain't trusting any sports organization.NHL is as scripted as the WWE, we are the land of misfit toys and a bunch of jerks to be the heel in the ECF
Well I think it signals that we won’t need that much cap space with our moves, for better or worse. If we were worried about figuring it out we wouldn’t be doing this obviously.A 6th round pick isn't worth a lot.
It's also worth more than $687K in cap space after the trade deadline.
And if Carolina is in a position where that $687K is important, they can either send a roster player back or work a retention of their own to make things work. But with $5.87M in projected deadline cap space they should be fine if a major move materializes.
If they are acquiring a $6M or more player, chances are they are sending at least one roster player back. They may need to send back a roster player in any deal because of the 23 man roster limit.Well I think it signals that we won’t need that much cap space with our moves, for better or worse. Though until EP signs there’s still a chance that deal is on the table.

I think this is if there's a bigger deal, they will figure it out. $687K isn't going to scuttle a deal.
If I was Waddell I’m taking a similar offer they made for EP and calling St Louis and offering something for Robert Thomas. I highly doubt the blues would move him but man he would be a perfect 2c behind aho and a right shot.
Also wonder about Saad has 3 years left and they pursued him before he signed with the blues. Would be cheaper then BuchnevichThat would be so smooth
Zero chance STL moves Thomas. If I was Waddell I’m taking a similar offer they made for EP and calling St Louis and offering something for Robert Thomas. I highly doubt the blues would move him but man he would be a perfect 2c behind aho and a right shot.
Rather just got for Vatrano who won’t cost two firstsBuch's value is 2 1sts right now.
I'd offer 1st, Blake, and Heimo. STL will ask for Morrow instead but Im not sure we offer up Morrow in a short term Buch deal.
Does that work? probably not unless STL really like Blake.
not even sure Vatrano will cost 1 - probably a 2nd and a B tier prospect.Rather just got for Vatrano who won’t cost two firsts

Don’t get me wrong I’d pay a lot for Buch. Wouldn’t be afraid to toss this years first in seeing we have 2 seconds. First, second Drury and another prospect id considerunderstandable.
Vatrano is due some regression because he is shooting above expected in 5v5 and well above expected on the PP. Buch is about where Buch has been for a while shooting slightly below expected. Buch does have a stronger 2 way game
Shooting wise, Vatrano is a decently even mix of below the dots and above. Buch is a majority below the dots guy. We need more of that.
Yes but... Mark stone was a 6th round pick. So are Ullmark and Keumper. That late in the draft you’re more likely to get Meth Jarvis.

This is a perfect description for what the 5+ rounds of the NHL draft are like. I am not at all convinced that there’s even one team in the league which has a material advantage in scouting beyond the 100th pick. It’s just guesswork and hoping that someone hits a development spurt.
