Goddamn Cale Fleury is massive
We have a petry replacement coming, and a shea weber replacement coming lol
Goddamn Cale Fleury is massive
i was basically implying that those people probably dont know much about our prospects
I work at RDS, I'll try getting to the bottom of this, re: webcasting the rookie tournament next week.
Honestly, we've been webcasting a bunch of stuff since the spring. I don't see why we wouldn't be showing something that always equates to very good traffic on the site.
Lol its just so strange, it feels like we all feel like we have a handful of CANT miss no doubt about it prospects but it always seems like suzuki is the "forgotten one" i dont know if its because we didnt outright draft him or the skating woes blown out of proportion as per usual or what
I think he's a huge surprise waiting to happen
I believe RDS did that last year, no ?

According to who? He's the complete package, people just hate on him because he's not physical.

Playing on another continent is not for everyone. That's definitely part of it. He's in a way ''not ours.''
The other thing is that we haven't seen him play against anything but OHL, really. It's a big question mark how he's going to handle the pros. If he had, say, torched a Euro league or something like that he would have a much higher profile, IMO.
The CHL rule is really dumb and I don't understand why kids like Nick don't circumvent it. Really disappointed in Alexis for not taking that route, too.
Playing on another continent is not for everyone.
He's listed as 5'11 183 in 5he rookie camp press release. That's pretty stocky for a guy his age. And with his work ethic, I'm much less worried about size. I figure at worst he'll be a Tatar - not the biggest guy, but strong on the puck. I'm looking forward to him putting the skating worries to rest.
I mean not everyone WANTS to play oversea. You're far from your family in a country you don't know in which the primary language is probably not one you know.Indeed it's not: it's only for the exceptional. Alexis and Nick among others should balk at being uncompensated for their labour.
I'd probably add Brook to that sure fire NHL player list too. Primeau seems like a solid bet too but goalies are hard to predict.Romanov/Poehling/Suzuki are sure NHL bets for me. We have other good prospects (Caufield, Brook, Ylonen etc.) that have a ton of upside but evaluating how well their game will translate to the NHL is way harder.
same height and similar size than Crosby!Suzuki at 193lbs. That's pretty good.
Cale Fleury is a big boy
and I have heard that he is " criminally undersized" I laughed at itHe has the height and weight of sidney crosby, and all he does is produce points out the wazoo, but the consensus around here seems to be that all he will do is struggle...bewildering
Suzuki will not be a Tatar, one of Tatar BIG weakness is his Poise, one of Suzuki strength is his Poise, just like Crosby ( similar body type)He's listed as 5'11 183 in 5he rookie camp press release. "Suzuki is slow and weak." Things you only hear on HF.and I have heard that he is " criminally undersized" I laughed at it

We disagree.I just don't respect the decision to not make balls deep into the 6 figures while seeing a bit of the world and challenging the iniquitous status quo of the CHL on behalf of your fellow players, and if their motivation is that they might miss their mommies for 6 months that only exacerbates my feelings in this regard.
ya IK he doesn't have the muscular leg of Crosby, he has probably the biggest legs in the NHL. But Suzuki skates with his body at a low gravity. Not even close to Crosby's torso and low center of gravity...
Read legs.
If we suffer another long term injury this year, especially through violence, I say we pull the plug on this tourney.

I only saw the WJCs where he was less than impressive (though I still saw a kid who could be very dangerous offensively). It seems like some people think that him creating time and space is a concern even outside of the WJCs which is a problem I saw. I hope those concerns are overblown. He seems like he's been improving in that aspect and I believe he has the drive to do what it takes. A part of me is still a bit worried though. Seems to good to be true if he panned out and reached anywhere near his ceiling.
