What’s crazy is McDavid is becoming a better goal scorer than Matthews, all while having more assists than Matthews does points.
The second part is crazy, the first just isn’t true.

With about a 1/3 of the season remaining here is where things stand. Should be a great race to the finish!

That's not even the worst misspelling

Thanks, fixed. Clearly should have had more coffee before writing the post.McDavid has 38 games played.
Good race so far.
Wish I could see Matthews' totals without that wrist injury.
I really would like to see McDavid win the rocket for his personal legacy, to be the first player since Lemieux to lead the league in both goals and assists would lift him to new heights, a mark neither Ovi or Crosby even came that particularly close to.
Matthews is looking like he's getting hot again while the Oilers are cooling a bit so it'll be tough for him to make up that 3 goal gap, but if there is anyone who can do its McDavid.
That is an absurd stat. His assist total would be 5th in the NHL in points, and he is neck and neck in the rocket race. 97 is dominating this year.

He is shooting more, that's why he's well above his career pace with a similar shooting %.I'm fairly certain if mcdavid started shooting more and passing less he would win the rocket fairly easily.
He's just to good.

27 now!!!
Typically that is true for someone who is in the lead. This is Matthews’ award to lose.
