Why do people assume that playing with a Finnish player is going to magically fix his hockey IQ and agent issues?

Dammit,we should of got a Russian center for Yakupovs!

It's mostly people from Finland wanting to see Finn's together doing well.

Hockey IQ can be fixed to an extent. Pulju does have the tools. Just need to work on some fundamentals and he would be a middle 6 player. Look at Nurse. Always seems like a tool but no toolbox type of player. Look at him now.

I’d be pretty happy if he signed a two year deal in the K honestly. Best place for him to find his game probably.

It's largely disingenuous, because it's trying to create an association that really isn't founded.
What?
He would be leaving north america to go play in Europe.

Players leaving NA for Europe to "develop" almost never actually come back as impact players. If he is going to leave, trade his rights before they are worthless

I mean with our **** ass wingers, he couldn't do enough to get himself off the 4th line with 2 coaches.

He was doing such a great job.
Arguing for the sake of arguing.

Goes to the KHL to develop and work on some fundamentals. Bad
Stays on the Oilers. Bad

Seems like you have your mind set on trading him for pennies on the dollar

One year in Europe would be goid for him.
But I am not certain KHL hockey is the best place for that.
Pulju needs to learn under pressure and huge russian rinks are quite the opposite.
KHL is the second best league but the game is quite different there.

In my eyes Finnish Liiga would be best as it is physical, played in smaller rinks and it is familiar.

But I thing agent wants KHL for money if not NHL. He seems stupid.

Cause going back to Europe after floundering in the NHL almost never helps the org or the player become better NHL players.

The best place for him is the AHL but he can't go there.

So he either accepts a sheltered bottom 6 role here in attempts to develop or if him and his agent think that's a slight to God, then ya, trade his ass.

Getting a 2nd or 3rd round pick doesn't help the Oilers either. Pulju has a better chance off turning his career by spending some time in the KHL than those picks becoming NHLers.

The best place for him is somewhere where he enjoys playing hockey again.

I have to completely disagree with both the comparison to Nurse and fixing hockey IQ especially when the player seems to have a sense of entitlement a mile wide driven by his agent.

Nurse is progressing as projected. PJ has actually regressed.

Hockey IQ is something you largely have or you don’t. Sure you can learn to be a better positional player but you can’t teach offense. He shows a lack of offensive positional wherewithal and allows himself to be pushed to the perimeter on the rush and the number of outside shots he takes is ridiculous.

Playing with calm professionals who speak his language would help him settle socially and give him more time and energy to focus on his on-ice issues.

50-60 points should not be out of the question. He has a wicked toolbox but has needed to focus (and fail) off-ice for a while and that hurts his confidence for sure.

50-60 points would be incredible at this point.

His on ice play is bad because his hockey IQ isn't good enough to adapt to the NHL speed. Maybe he can fix that but playing with other Finn's isn't going to suddenly fix that. Especially when him and his agent sound very entitled.

A 2nd round pick helps us more than a kid playing in the KHL till his rights expire.

In all likelyhood a trade would be him for another teams equally struggling prospect
