Yeah that was pretty lame, absolutely no need to cut back to the studio, I wanted to see more of the atmosphere in the arena post game plus the three stars.
1) TaylorThat was weird that they said they would announce it but didn't announce them.
Why did it not record the game? Was there a problem with NHL Network, or is it just because it was blacked out on NHLN?
He didn't face many shots or scoring chances today. One very early, then the first Bern goal (which he had no chance on) then the tying goal, then two in OT.Just looking at that replay (msg app wouldn't work at work)... I wouldn't say it was a "borderline goal". He was in the correct position, just couldn't see the release of the shot, which is key to making a save if you get screened to move into position.
Either way 2 goals against, if pre season is any indication he prob gives up 2 per on average.... which is on par with Cory's numbers pre injury.
Let's see what the season brings
I wish we could make that Nico salute a thing at the rock.
Between that and the opening lineup announcements, it's almost as if MSG was trying to squelch cheers for Nico.
Is he one of the better goalies in the league over there?I mean, of course you are right that we can never know for sure how he would perform in the NHL. But heck, on any given year, we don't know that about a lot of NHL goalies either. Just look at how Peter Budaj performed a couple of seasons ago, or how Carey Price played last year.
But what I'm trying to say is, I wouldn't be any more worried with Genoni as my backup than with any other backup in the NHL. Or well, most of them.
So who were the 2nd and 3rd Stars?
Because it would've been aired on MSG here so the DVR for some reason recorded NHL Network during that time period which was 3 hours worth of crap I don't want to see. I just manually set it for the Oilers-Devils game because it was set up to do the same thing. MSG is my channel that carries the Devils game but the DVR somehow recorded the NHL network.
He has been in the conversation for being one of the best goalies in the NLA for about 8 years. His last few years in Davos were spectacular (including a cup that he pretty much single-handedly won for us) and he was still a top goalie for Bern as far as I can tell. I don't follow them all that closely. Is he one of the better goalies in the league over there?
I'm assuming he is, since they're the best team over there, but that's not always indicative of a team with the best goalie, as the Sharks are a good team with a painfully average goalie. But I'm assuming he's one of the better ones over there.
bratt seems much more comfortable and in place on olympic ice
just need to organize a contingency of people to yell his name when announcing him as a starI wish we could make that Nico salute a thing at the rock.
New Cangimeme Alert:
Agree with you ..Whoever Bern's goalie is really kept them in the game.
Him aside, I thought you could really tell the difference between NHL quality players and the NLA. Literally, every line dominated when they were out there and the only time they scored goals is when the Devils shot themselves in the foot with mistakes.
I thought Mojo-Zacha-Bratt was the best line out there though. Hard to tell what that line will do against NHL players but I thought they were really moving the puck well.
Jesper Bratt is going to take people's souls this year.
