Handball rule changed by law makers

Accidental handball that leads to a goal-scoring chance or a goal for a team-mate will no longer be penalised, say football's law makers.

Ifab confirmed the change on Friday, saying it was because of the "interpretation of handball incidents" not being applied consistently.

Handball rule changed by law makers

Ifab confirmed the change on Friday, saying it was because of the "interpretation of handball incidents" not being applied consistently.

This would apply to Fulham’s disallowed goal. If the guy whose arm the ball hit had scored the goal himself it would still be disallowed next year, but in the case where it deflects off his arm in an unintentional manner and goes to a teammate, that will now be a good goal.

The other changes to the wording are basically just clarifications off the current intent of the law that may not be clear from the current wording.

Inside Levy’s 20 years at Tottenham, by those who worked with him

Daniel Levy’s 20 years at Tottenham, which the chairman celebrates on Thursday, have unquestionably been a remarkable commercial success.

When ENIC bought Alan Sugar’s Spurs for £22million in 2001, Levy inherited a club in a state of drift, languishing in Arsenal ’s shadow and with a crumbling training ground and stadium.

Today, Spurs are one of the most profitable clubs in Europe, valued at over £2billion and boasting one of the best training centres in the country and surely the finest stadium in the world.

Levy has achieved all this without a penny of outside investment, making it an almost unparalleled feat.

The 2008 League Cup remains the only trophy of his tenure, so for all his achievements, Levy is still a divisive figure among supporters, with some believing he will always prioritise business considerations over sporting success.

United appoint Football and Technical Directors

John will have overall leadership and responsibility for operations and strategy across all football functions, reinforcing the strong foundations already in place. This appointment builds on the work John has already undertaken in recent years, working closely with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the rest of the football staff to create the structures, processes and culture to deliver sustained success on the pitch. This has included successful overhauls of the club’s Academy and recruitment department.

Darren will work closely with John to add technical input and direction into all football and performance areas. He will focus on a co-ordinated and long-term approach to player and squad development, helping maintain the integral link between the Academy and the first team, aligned with Manchester United’s values and culture.

As Football Director, John will work day-to-day with Ole to align recruitment and other strategies and to ensure that the first team has the best-in-class operational support it needs to succeed.

No...

He's been at United after Moyes was sacked. There's no correlation. Damn it, man, why'd you have to go full HFBoards?

No need to be so upset at something that was clearly a joke. Man why did you have to go all Twitter on us?

amazing to see Giggs and Neville try to take over the club after SAF and fail, everyone rightly saying you need work your way up.

only for 5 years later Ole and Fletcher run the club. With no experience managing large clubs.
I love the spin job United put out saying that it’s part of a huge restructuring behind the scenes when it’s all the same people lol.

Nothing against Fletcher but how is he qualified for this role? Its all bullshit. There's a reason Woodward put club legends/novices in place.

He can both overrule them, and then float the "Ole says back the club" stories when times are bad.

Its all very transparent.

Putting club legends in these spots is clearly something he’s doing to give himself a bigger grace period if these hiring don’t work out immediately. It’s stupid. It sucks that he makes the club so much money because outside of that the guy is a huge detriment to the club.
