Interesting. I think it used to be 10 on that side?

Anyway - anyone know what the black jerseys cost at the eye? Dicks has them for 180. The replcias are like 100. That's the one she wants.

Looks like we leave at 11AM and bring the cooler!
Hurricanes Fanatics Breakaway 3rd Jersey

$135 at The Eye. You can either buy on there, or just wait til you get to Raleigh tomorrow. If you can get for $100 at Dicks, that might be the better buy. Authentic jerseys in The Eye are $265

Tons of beer in the parking lot.

IMPORTANT NOTE: they are now charging the full $20 for the fairgrounds lot on the other side of Trinity. The only advantage to parking out there now is beating traffic.

I have yet to experience that so i looked it up in order to fit in like a good Jerk.

Hey all, first time poster. I’m a native Detroiter living in Charlotte these days, and have come to adopt the Hurricanes as my other home team. I’ll obviously be a Wings fan for life growing up playing and watching hockey in Detroit, but I’m having a blast watching the Canes run this year. It’s the most fun I’ve had watching non-Red Wings hockey without a doubt. I’ll probably start hanging around here a little more as the Canes-Isles series thread on my Wings board is a bit slow. Super pumped for game 4 though. It’ll be a tough game, but I’ve got hopes they can get it done and the rest will be huge for this squad given the injuries and the grueling round 1 battle. In any event, I can’t wait for tomorrow!

Trying to find this data for obvious reasons but can't find it anywhere, if someone might point me in the right direction...

Does anyone know the overall stat is for a team's chance of winning the series immediately after having swept a team?

Hockey Reference has this, which is fascinating but doesn't quite have what I'm looking for: NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, Historical Data | Hockey-Reference.com

Basically, when a team sweeps, what are their chances of winning the next round? It's interesting info in the whole "would you rather have rest or momentum" debate. Columbus and New York are obviously not doing anything to prove anything one way or the other so far this year.

Things I have learned from the main board

Forslund hates the Hurricanes and is looking to leave at the first opportunity
Tripp is so pissed off at Dundon he's going to quit when Forslund leaves
Having a crowd stand for a hockey game is embarrassing and should be scolded

I MAY SPOUT RIDICULOUS NONSENSE ON REGULAR BASIS, BUT STATEMENTS LIKE THIS ARE UTTERLY INANE.

CROWD THAT DOES NOT STAND AT SOME POINT IS EMBARRASING.

Since there aren't many sweeps, it's probably easiest to just calculate this by hand rather than trying to find it somewhere.

Post-sweep records in the cap era:
2018: 0-1
2017: 2-0
2016: nil
2015: 2-2
2014: 1-0
2013: 0-2
2012: 1-0
2011: 1-2 * BOS/TBL matched up two teams which both came off sweeps, so produced a 1-1 record by default
2010: 1-0
2009: 2-2
2008: 2-0
2007: 0-1
2006: 0-2
TOTAL: 12-12

Not sure I would want to mingle this with data from a non-capped league, where the parity dynamic was different. But here's info going back to 1991, which is the next era cutoff in my mind.

2004: 1-0
2003: 1-1
2002: nil
2001: 1-2
2000: 1-1
1999: 2-1
1998: 0-2
1997: 1-0
1996: 0-1
1995: 2-2 *CHI/DET matched up two teams which both came off sweeps, so produced a 1-1 record by default
1994: 1-1
1993: 1-2
1992: 2-2 *PIT/CHI matched up two teams which both came off sweeps, so produced a 1-1 record by default
1991: nil
TOTAL: 13-15

Boy, those totals look suspiciously similar to what you'd see from a factor with no predictive value whatsoever...

Mrazek is sure having some vengeance on Wings fans. I never felt good about letting him go, clearly our loss at this point. Inconsistent at times or not, he keeps proving he’s a big game player when it matters most. I’d bet on that as a GM and work through the regular season ups and downs.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Pack it up, boys and girls, we're done here.

I really don't think it matters anymore; I truly believe that this team expects to win and doesn't care if anyone thinks we should win, lose, or are only playing 48 seconds of good hockey per game. We're going to take that 48 seconds and use it to put you down.
