It's "beat they ass" not "beat that ass"

we're not over here objectifying them. "That" is so impersonal. "They" at least acknowledges them as thinking, feeling, human people whose asses just happen to be in significant danger

I felt that you had the TM on “beat they ass” and didn’t want to step on toes. But that group of miserable fans desperately NEEDS an ass beating and I hope we comply.

I agree with the others - let's close this out as soon as possible. Normally I wouldn't want a long break between series (4ish days seems about right most of the time), but these guys are so worn out and banged up that they could really use a week off.

This series has been much more even than 3-0 would suggest. I thought we were unlucky to be down 0-2 against the Caps and lucky to be up 2-0 against the Isles. Don't give them a reason to think they can pull off the comeback. Just finish them and deal with the rust later.

Wife and I scored some of the 132.00 tickets last night. Road trip time.

Where is a good spot to buy canes gear before the game besides the eye? She wants a jersey and I won't let her touch my ancient Brindamour jersey. Anywhere in town with good prices? We haven't lived in NC for 10 years.
Believe it or not many of the Dicks sporting goods location around the triangle carry all the Adidas authentic jerseys including the whalers one. Plus they send coupons out all the time if you're a scorecard member. Triangle town center has a couple of sports store i cant remember the name of and also crabtree valley has one too.

EDIT: Sportsmania is at triangle town center and crabtree. Pro Image sports is at triangle town center as well.

Southpoint has a couple sports stores as well. There's a Lids Locker Room upstairs as well as a sports collectors store downstairs pretty much across the hall from it. Because its Durham their prices might be marked down a little.

Keep in mind, The Eye is open to the public up until the doors open for the game, so if you plan to arrive early to tailgate, you can hit up the store.

FWIW, last night I brought my neighbor to the game. It was his first live hockey game since the IceCaps (!!!) and he had no Canes merch. He said he stopped by Target to pick up something off the "local teams" rack, and the Canes gear was completely wiped out except for infant-sized stuff.

That being said, one option is the "Pro Sports" store in Cary Towne Center. They're a surplus outlet and generally have a lot of Canes gear. Just know that it's usually older stuff (like they probably have ****loads of Jeff Skinner jerseys right now, if I had to guess) and the prices aren't cheap cheap. Probably in the $200 range for a name/number jersey.

They also have a location in Brier Creek. But most of their inventory is NFL and college. But you're right, they tend to mark everything down, and you can probably find an older jersey for cheap.

Nah I'd rather get her something nice from the eye. Jerseys online now are like 100-150. She thinks skinner is a brat so no.

I'll just take her to the eye. I bet gear IS wiped locallay and everything around here in Va is caps, which is odd, considering we are actually closer to raleigh.

One last thought on the neighbor thing -- when he went back home he mentioned he was going to do "whatever it takes" to watch the rest of the playoffs and see how this story ends. This is a guy who had literally NEVER seen a Canes game after 20 years.

The fanbase-building impact of this team being successful, even just for a few weeks, is super real.

Wife has never been to playoff PNC.

I LOL'd. We will bring some hotdogs. Yall still do beer in the parking lot or do they whine about it?

Tons of beer in the parking lot.

IMPORTANT NOTE: they are now charging the full $20 for the fairgrounds lot on the other side of Trinity. The only advantage to parking out there now is beating traffic.

Interesting. I think it used to be 10 on that side?

Anyway - anyone know what the black jerseys cost at the eye? Dicks has them for 180. The replcias are like 100. That's the one she wants.

Looks like we leave at 11AM and bring the cooler!

You can get them online right now from the hurricanes store for $150.00 with a code. I do not know the code. $97 for no name or number
