Q regular season starts tonight. Poulin will be on a line with Benjamin Tardif and Patrick Guay

Guay is a good player that will likely breakout in a bigger role this year. He could potentially get drafted in the late rounds next week. Tardif is an overager that was a point per game last year (playing on the second line). Should be a good line.

Baie Comeau starts up tomorrow.

I assume whenever NHL camps start, Poulin and others will just take a leave of absence from their teams, and then return if they get cut. However, I haven't really heard anything concrete as to how this will be handled, likely because the NHL hasn't really figured out what they are doing for next season yet.

Tardif had really good underlying and ES numbers the past 2 years IIRC.

Poulin 1+1 in an 8-5 loss. Is he playing RW? Boxscore lists him as RW with Tardiff as LW and Guay as C, but also shows Poulin as winning 9 out of 13 face-offs.

Closer than it sounds.. other team scored 2 ENers.

The team’s Twitter has him at RW. Maybe that changed in the game but I’m going to say he ended up taking face offs and playing RW.

It’s fun to finally check some boxscores to see how the prospects are doing. Legare an assist, 9 freakin’ shots and 2nd star in a loss, Puustinen with 2 assists and Bjorkqvist with 1 assist in their first games of the season.

Team Needs: C, D, G, LW, RW
It is not necessarily that the Penguins front office doesn't embrace the draft as much as they have continued to use it as a means to bolstering their present Cup challenging as the end goal. Only a couple of prospects from the first rounds remain to develop, in wingers Samuel Poulin, Nathan Legare and Drew O’Connor. They did acquire defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph in the Phil Kessel trade, and he is coming on, but this franchise will be looking at any and all positions to add talent. Barring a trade for part of their NHL team roster, they will not go to the microphone until slot #76 in the 3rd round, and best player on the board will be the strategy, with hopes a centre with strong upside is still there. --Bill Placzek--

I think they have done a decent job getting defensive prospects and should focus on forwards and centers. With a main focus on centers. Their defense is signed long term as well. With half being pretty young.

Letang
Dumo
Marino
Petts
MM

Are all signed or controlled for 2 - 3 years.

Prospect wise they have a lot.

Poj
Almari
Lindgren
Lee
Maniscalco
Reilly

Plus a couple other late picks
Phillips
Airola

I pretty much trust whoever they pick, however it looks on paper.

Hard to know with such little sample, but Allvin has done well imo.

Ranked #64 by TSN/McKenzie

Daws plays with great positional awareness, staying deep because his size enables him to simply get in front of the puck. He doesn't leave shooters with a lot of open area, and he doesn't allow a lot of rebounds to test his speed and recovery. His posture is excellent, taking up shooting room at the top of the net. -EliteProspects 2020 NHL Draft Guide
