I have quite a bit of money on Pitts' draft slot. If you're interested in such things, I would encourage everyone to look at combo plays on such players. There are extremely likely permutations that work out in profits unless something weird like Pitts going 3 or at 4 to someone other than Atlanta happens.

Welp, it looks like Atlanta is willing to trade out of their spot. So you may get it!

(I'd say people only trade to 4 to get a QB, but who knows)

Wow Horn gone too. That would suck.
I've seen blogs saying the Saints should draft Horn and I just don't see how that happens. He's gone in the first 11-12 picks.

As for Parsons, the Eagles don't draft linebackers early. Ever. No 1st round picks since 1979. It would be a good pick on talent but I'll believe it when I see it. There seem to be character questions surfacing as well.

Surprisingly well!
3, 4, or 5 figures? :naughty:

This popped up on my timeline, please join me for a short stroll down memory lane:

Is he really an Eagle if he never played in the regular season?

I can forgive the previous underthrows but the last play just slays me. He has time, his receiver is wide open, just need to plant and softly toss to the corner, instead he tries a Jeter jump throw that's wobbling five yards out of bounds. That boy was thick, though!

I’d be happy with anything other than a DE at this point.

Who's kidding who.... this franchise is going Dline or Oline when their not QB hunting... Thats Howie's MO. Its going to be the Michigan kid is my guess (too similar to Graham for them to resist)

I want Smith or Horn personally

Howie signed Bradham and would have kept Hicks if he could have stayed healthy here (leaves and plays 16 games, go figure).
Gannon probably values LBs a lot higher than Schwartz, Schwartz had a lot of influence over defensive personnel.

Problem is I don't know if there's a LB in this draft I'd deem worthy of a #12, no Kuechley in this draft. Smart, instinctive 3 down LB.

Something to watch, NE #15, if a QB is on the board at #12, tradeback is 150 points, #96 & #112 would be 170 points.

Parsons is on Kuchley's level as a prospect. Obviously that doesn't mean he'll develop as well as the latter did once in the league.

Very different players too. Parsons hasn't been asked to cover as much, so he certainly doesn't have the pattern recognition of BC Kuechly. Parsons is better than BC Kuechly at taking on blockers in run fits, which is certainly less valuable, but still has some. Both are/were elite athletes even at the NFL level. Extremely similar size profiles too.

I'm just speaking to on the field here. I have no right to speculate on the off the field Parsons issues.

Question would be if Parsons is a good fit for what Gannon would want from a 3 down LB.
That has to be a big affirmative to take him at #12, no matter how athletic.
The threshold would be a lot lower at #37 (we can work with him).

Risk v reward, Horn is probably the safest, Waddle and Farley have injury questions (do you trust your doctors?), Parsons fit and character. Slater need issues (with Mailata, Dillard and Lane signed for a few more years, can Seumalo move to center?).

The kid from ND is amazing at LB. His highlight package is off the charts

With LBs, highlights are less important than consistency, does he know what he's doing, cover the right gap, shed blocks, can he cover in matchups with RBs and TEs, does he properly drop into zone? Flash plays can be obtained from pass rush specialists, but a top LB is a defensive anchor, elevating the play of the other LBs by taking care of business and freeing them to make plays.

The Eagles haven’t had good LB in so many years that they’ve forgotten what it means. Parsons ability to play tough against the run behind Cox &Co. takes that off of the opponent’s plate. If he can defend TEs or RBs on pass plays, that’s another bonus. He has the physical ability to do that. Experience is another thing but would come with time. He’s going to be an impact player in the game.

Depends on his instincts. LBs with great athleticism but average instincts are often best in systems where they attack and don't have to read and react.

A lot of what a good LB does results in "non-plays," takes the right gap, the RB hesitates and is tackled for a loss by another player, takes a good drop in coverage and the QB looks elsewhere, and so on.
