Why are against trading som$e of our players for others? We could use a different look but also lets not go crazy and deal everyone away.
I don't think most people are against trades, just these one sided trade proposals that make no sense.
Why would you want to give serious assets to overpay Trouba or Spurgeon? Extensions don't matter if they're not at a discount, otherwise they're just one year rentals.
Why would you trade a 20 year old center with unlimited upside for a good but not special forward?
And so on.
I have no problem trading Ghost in a deal for Pesce, who's better than Trouba and has four years left on his deal. That makes sense, improve the quality of the defense and balance it out L/R. But one year of Trouba, who's is good but nothing special, pass.
I'd trade decent but not top assets to rent Spurgeon for a season and buy time for Myers.
I'd trade #41 and next year's 1st rd pick in a heartbeat for the right player.
I'd trade Morin and/or Hagg for a RHD.
I'd trade 2nd, 3rd picks and 2nd tier prospects for veteran patches at forward or RHD.
There are lots of moves that can improve this team next year that won't block prospects permanently or cost major assets - good teams make these deals all the time, look at St Louis and Boston, for example.
