I’ll take the Russian Heiskinen. He is the best rookia. Just scored 2 goals! So proud man!
Liljegren is better than both imoThan you're either trolling or don't understand hockey at all. Both answers mean that you are wasting people's time by posting this.
dahlin for sure coming up with Pettersson struggling. But ppl need to understand why Pettersson been struggling. His team takes the most penalties so he’s hardly into the game. And 2 of their best forward is out and 2 of their best defensive center is out. He’s doing way too much and teams are also looking for him now.
Put Dahlen on the Canucks and he’d look a LOT worse.
Put Pettersson on the Sabres and he’d be top 5 in NHL scoring.
Quality of teammates matters.
Dahlin is not being carried by his teammates, if anything it's the other way around. He would look just as good on any other team.
Taking Petterson over Dahlin will likely eventually be seen as similar to someone preferring Duchene over Hedman in 2009-2011 because forwards tend to be better at a younger age.
Judge the comparison based on how they were viewed back in 2009-2011 and not how it has played out. There were a lot of people who preferred him over Tavares. They were neck and neck. People thought Duchene was going to be a superstar. Even if he had reached that level, he likely still wouldn't have been as good as Hedman is today.Hedman, like most D took longer to develop but you are comparing a Norris winner with a center that's never been top 20 in the league
Pettersson will, and Dahlin most likely will contend for Norris' but he hasn't won one yet. Not a fair call-back

Dahlin seems to be better getting with every game which is what you want
Vancouver leads the league in penalties by a lot, and Pettersson can't seem to get into a flow of the game sitting on the bench for massive stretches.
Pettersson is cooling off, but still playing well on a team who has lost 9 straight games.
Comparing forwards to dmen is just awful. I've never liked it. Hard to appreciate how good a dman is until you actually watch them play enough to notice specific things in their game that they do really well and how they perform on both sides of the puck.
And in the end, it's just about what your team needs anyways if you were to pick one. A lot of people hating on either player have clearly not seen the other play
Our team just spent five years putting up so few wins that the gap between them and the next worst team in that span was twice the size of the gap between any other two teams.on most teams Dahlin will look amazing. The team he won't will be the Canucks without Pettersson
imagine your team with no Eichel Skinner
Pettersson's on-ice stats are horrendous away from Goldobin though?Pettersson's supporting cast is horrible.
Not even McDavid could make Goldobin and whoever look good.
If you don't think Dahlin is our best defenseman then you need to stop watching hockey with your eyes closed.I'm personally a little surprised. Reading about Dhalin in the Dhalin thread, and then you can read about Pettersson in the Pettersson thread, it's pretty obvious who is actually the better player.
to be honest, saying
"Elias Pettersson is the Canucks best player this season" holds far more truth then
"Rasmus Dhalin is the Sabres best dman". he's not even their best dman, let alone best player on the team.
anyways I leave it like that. Go on hfboards.com.
