Sullivan was specific in the post-match yesterday that Rakell was going to be top6 and that they would be working on the options.I really hope we didn't trade for Rakell just to have him play with Jeff Carter.
Seriously? I don't get how people don't understand this yet.I really hope we didn't trade for Rakell just to have him play with Jeff Carter.
Agreed, but my hate for back to backs outweighs my hate for shootouts.Tired of shootouts in general.
5 minutes of 4-4 then 5 of 3-3. Then call it a tie. Shootouts are played out.
100% tired, mentally and physicallyI thought the Pens looked a bit off in this one. Not sure if they were tired. They are an older team playing the second of a back to back situation against a team with some young legs like Buffalo. Also could just be flat and overlooking Buffalo with the big showdown with the Rangers up next. Either way, I'm happy we got a point out of it.

Unpopular opinion, but I'd prefer just 60 min games with the soccer points system. 3-1-05 min of 4-4
5 min of 3-3
If still tied then:
First to 2 goals shootout , home team shoots first.
Sidney Crosby with 2 points now tied 24th all time in points at 1391 with Brett Hull.
Clearly he doesn't have your drive to win.Now that we took two of Bylsma’s pets away, he’s going to play Erod and Heinen in the top 6 to get back at the team.
The sky is falling again? This board is funny as usual. Too bad we didn't get the extra point because the OT was all Penguins but it happens. That move by Rakell was fantastic, so close to a highlight reel goal.
Buffalo has been pretty dangerous since Tuch, Thompson and Skinner got hot but let's act like we lost to the worst team ever. Funny how Malkin created three great chances for his linemates in the third period alone, they couldn't score but before that he scored one of his luckiest goals ever. Hockey can be weird that way. It is encouraging that we rallied in the third on a back to back but it's also odd how we either utterly dominate second periods (the previous games) or get caved in big time (this game).
Would be nice to get some secondary scoring, of course, but Anderson also made two saves with the knob of his stick, IIRC, Guentzel had seemingly a gazillion chances to score, etc. All in all, we came very close to winning despite barely playing defense, that's not bad, right?
Pretty much this. Carter and Boyle looked especially slow.I thought the Pens looked a bit off in this one. Not sure if they were tired. Well, if Sully is making conclusions based on this game only, he should scratch the entire defense and 4th line. He played Rakell with Sid and Jake quite a bit yesterday, I think the obvious next move will be that first line. If it doesn't work, only then will he think of reuniting GCR.I'm more annoyed by L2's defensive play last night
The 1 goal was on Heinen, the other on Malkin.
Sky is not falling, I just worry that every night Rust/Malkin get scored on or don't score a goal Sully will break them up
so you are talking about people hyperbolizing shit by hyperbolyzing shit...classic...People get way too worked up over the ups and downs with this team. This board was salivating over how the Pens annihilated an inferior opponent after the Jackets game, and now people want Sullivan beheaded because they had a stinker against a different inferior opponent. It happens. The team is better than this game.
