I think howard is stronger but in a fight isn't it all about who has the stronger chin?

Anyway we will never know b/c it will never happen, so this is kinda of pointless...

Chara. The physical nature of hockey and the fact that it actually involves fights gives Chara a lot more experience. Figure that Chara's been in quite a few fights and it helps him a LOT.

This. Plus Chara has a background in wrestling. I'm not sure what Howard's creds are.

Dwight Howard is only two inches taller and ten pounds heavier. I love Dwight Howard, but I'll take the guy who plays the much tougher, more physical sport where fighting involves more than just a slapping contest.

If the fight was on dry land and Dwight Howard had a couple of weeks to "train" for the fight, he'd snap Chara in half.

If it's on skates, then Chara obviously wins.

Howard has a negligible size advantage, but come on. This isn't a question of whether he could box Chara out of the key and grab the rebound. We're talking about an MMA style fight, I presume.

Chara has world-class wrestling in his genes. That, and hockey involves boxing and actual physicality. On skates or otherwise, Zdeno would likely tune Dwight Howard.

chara easily,

sure howard might be more athletic, bigger freak of nature, but come on, has howard ever been in a fight? , thats like throwing sidney crosby also a physical freak, agaisnt a similar sized guy in haley on the nyi, and haley would tune crosby just because of the fighting exp,

chara no contest.

Depends on if Chara's balance is as bad on his feet as it is in ice skates.
They'll start fighting and Chara will end up on his back somehow within 5 seconds.

In all seriousness, Chara would probably win.

Howard is the stronger guy in his upper body, and I have to think he would knock anyone the **** out if he had a wide-open shot.

But here's the thing. Chara has been in 6 fights with Peter Worrell alone. He's fought Brashear, Laraque (no I'm not building a case that he can beat a black guy :sarcasm:), McKenna, Ivanans, Nazarov, Oliwa. Guys who are pretty much professional fighters and who will tear an inexperienced combatant to pieces when they get a chance. And Chara has NEVER been knocked the **** out. He wins or draws almost every fight.

So I have my doubts that he is going to stand there and let Howard get a clean shot. More likely Howard would come in swinging NBA-style, Chara would dodge the awkward punches and use his wrestling training to subdue Howard on the ground, and just wail on him at will.

I'm going with Chara, unless Howard has been in some fights I don't know about. And doing it as a kid doesn't count. How many fighting majors did Chara have last year? I feel like he's more able to handle it.

Chara is trained, not sure about Howard.

Howard does seem to have ties to this boxing gym in Orlando.

A professional athlete being found in or having ties to a local gym isn't exactly out of the ordinary though. Nothing on any formal training on the net, which doesn't mean it hasn't happened, however usually that kind of thing comes out when talking about offseason training regimenes. Especially when the player in question is at or near the top of his sport like Wade.

Has anyone ever even seen the guy throw a punch though?
