Dude

Yes, you absolutely did.

No one's baiting you... just holding you accountable, since you're one of the most egregious posters when it comes to the "I told you so" schtick.

You hit on some, you're off on others... but you absolutely guaranteed a Panthers' playoff berth this year. And Tavares won't leave the Island... book it.

Cool.story bro:sarcasm:

Let's go Cats then. I guess:towel:

Surprised Bruce hasn’t been fired yet.
The fact that he's out here guaranteeing a playoff berth while his GM is on record looking for hockey deals that "might compromise the postseason this year," tells you all you need to know about the state of that franchise.
I didn't really expect him fired during the season, but did think he was a dark horse for the first coach to be fired this season, back in October when no one had been fired yet. The Wild got off to a pretty mediocre start in October, if I recall correctly, but recovered pretty quickly.

I remember citing that another reason I thought he might be a candidate was because he wasn't even hired by the current GM there, thus he would have a shorter leash if the new GM wants to bring his own guy in.

The new GM is off to a pretty lousy start, especially with the Rask for Niederreiter trade.

Goals against review for tonight

Sabres vs Devils: 3 goals against Hutton, 2 stoppable. 1 goal against Schneider, no chance.

Rangers vs Penguins: 6 goals against Georgiev, 1 stoppable. 5 goals against DeSmith, no chance on any.

Blues vs Wild: 4 goals against Stalock, no chance on any. Binnington gets the shutout.

Flyers vs Red Wings: 1 goal against Hart, no chance. 1 goal against Bernier, no chance. 1 goal against Howard in relief, no chance. Guess Bernier left with injury.

Canadiens vs Panthers: 3 goals against Niemi, 1 stoppable. 2 goals against Price in relief, no chance on either. 3 goals against Reimer, 1 stoppable.

Capitals vs Ducks: 5 goals against Holtby, 2 stoppable. 2 goals against Miller, 1 stoppable.

So that's 37 goals scored on goalies tonight, 8 are stoppable. That's a little under 22% of the goals scored tonight are stoppable. Combined save percentages were .906%.

No one wants to play the blues in such a top heavy west.

If you're Winnipeg or Nashville, do whatever it takes o avoid the St. Louis Blues. Basically, win the damn division and take your chances against Minnesota, Dallas, Vancouver, or whatever mediocre to poor teams end up in the wild cards. The Blues will provide a very tough opening round matchup

Agreed.

Unless Jake Allen has to take over the starting position again. I'm actually more afraid of the Blues (with Binnington) than I am of the Flames right now, as both of their goalies are huge question marks. Smith because he's been awful and allows a lot of pathetically soft (never mind stoppable) goals. And Rittich because he doesn't look as good as his save percentage says he is and he's also pretty inexperienced.

That said, Binnington is very inexperienced, but he's looked A LOT better than Rittich to me. But it's a credit to the Flames that they've won so much with shaky goaltending.

Forgot softy of the night for last night.

This goal by Denis Malgin on Antti Niemi. It deflected too far out and went in too slow to not be a bad goal.

That Sens/Hawks game is looking like our game against Minnesota the other night.

I think there's already been about 5 bad goals just in the 1st period.

Stoppable goals have been down the last few nights, but I think they're coming back with a vengeance tonight.

Hedman out with an LBI. Injuries may be the only way to stop Tampa.
Or Dan Girardi. He stopped the Lightning last year in the elimination game against the Caps, just as he did for the Rangers more than once in the playoffs.

And with Hedman out, he'll likely be playing more than he might have otherwise played.

He'll never be "ok" in my book. :thumbd::thumbd::thumbd::thumbd:

Almost decapitating Vats....That's the image I always have of this clown.

Hedman?

The one who hit Nico in the family jewels with his hockey stick?

Kind of an amusing IRONY that he's out with a LOWER BODY injury. :tvhappy:

It's about time for the annual Tampa/Rangers trade isn't it? Although I don't think they have any defensemen they'd want. I don't think they want to take on Staal or Shattenkirk (didn't he veto a trade to Tampa when he was still with St. Louis?) with their contracts.

Oh my, if TB takes on Staal, they really need to question what they're trying to do.

I really don't think there's anybody to be had over there for the Lightning this year, unless they want Zuccarello or Hayes?

Goals against review for tonight

Coyotes vs Flames: 4 goals against Pickard, 1 stoppable. 2 goals against Smith, 1 stoppable.

Lightning vs Blue Jackets: 1 goal against Vasilevskiy, no chance. 5 goals against Korpisalo, 2 stoppable.

Senators vs Blackhawks: 4 goals against Nilsson, 2 stoppable. 4 goals against Anderson in relief, 2 stoppable. 3 goals against Deli, 2 stoppable. 4 goals against Ward in relief, 2 stoppable. Just some embarrassing goaltending in this game. Since there were so many goals in it, it wasn't quite as bad as our game in Minnesota, where 7 of 9 were stoppable. But this was pretty bad, as 4 goalies played and all of them gave up multiple weak goals.

Golden Knights vs Avalanche: 3 goals against Subban, 1 stoppable. Varlamov gets the shutout.

Bruins vs Sharks: 5 goals against Rask, 1 stoppable. 6 goals against Jones, 2 stoppable.

Capitals vs Kings: 2 goals against Copley, no chance on either. 3 goals against Campbell, no chance on any.

So that's 46 goals scored on goalies, 16 are stoppable. That's 35% of the goals allowed tonight were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .881% and every bit as poor.

As much as I wanna give it to Martin Jones, this one on Anders Nilsson has gotta be softy of the night. This got him promptly yanked.
