I am not surprised Colorado cooled off. They were not as good as their early record, but I never expected them to crater as badly as they have.

The west is really awful this year for some reason, especially the Pacific.

Kevin Boyle of the Ducks gets a shutout in his first career start. He did play a couple periods in relief the other night.

He's 26 years old, so this reeks of the kind of goalie that DD is hyping as the real deal and a late bloomer if he has 3 or 4 more good games and goes on a little run. Much like the Hamburglar scrub from a few years back.

Likely a season ending loss for the Canucks. If not then it's a giant nail in them. Not to get at least one point out of this game, against a team that's been in free fall mode. with an inexperienced goalie in net.

Goals against review for tonight

Oilers vs Penguins: 2 goals against Koskinen, 1 stoppable. 1 goal against Murray, no chance.

Canucks vs Ducks: 1 goal against Markstrom, no chance. Boyle gets the shutout. Looked like a soft goal on Markstrom, but due to him losing his stick, I can't nail him on this one.

That's 4 goals scored on goalies tonight, 1 is stoppable. That's 25% of the goals scored tonight were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .969%. No goalie allowed more than 2 goals tonight and the other 3 allowed 1 goal or less.

Softy of the night is the only one there was tonight and it was an ugly goal by Rust on Koskinen. If you believe save percentage isn't a reliable stat, it sure isn't for Koskinen. His save percentage tells me he's been an average goalie this year, but if I didn't know any better, I'd guess he was down there at .890% with Talbot. Between him and David Rittich for the Flames, both haven't been as good as their save percentage, but Koskinen has been much worse.

Rooting for the Canucks, want them to make the playoffs, even though they probably won't. Happy they won tonight.

I don't think we're catching the Kings.

Goals against review for tonight

Devils vs Blackhawks: 5 goals against Schneider, 1 stoppable. 2 goals against Ward, no chance on either.

Flames vs Panthers: 2 goals against Smith, 1 stoppable. 2 goals against Reimer, 1 stoppable.

Islanders vs Blue Jackets: 3 goals against Bobrovsky, no chance on any. Greiss gets the shutout.

Senators vs Red Wings: 3 goals against Nilsson, 1 stoppable. 2 goals against Howard, 1 stoppable.

Stars vs Lightning: 5 goals against Khudobin, 2 stoppable. 1 goal against Bow in relief, no chance. Vasilevskiy gets the shutout.

Canadiens vs Predators: 3 goals against Price, 1 stoppable. 1 goal against Rinne, no chance.

Avalanche vs Jets: 1 goal against Varlamov and it's stoppable. 4 goals against Hellebuyck, no chance on any.

Blues vs Coyotes: 4 goals against Kuemper, 2 stoppable. Binnington gets the shutout.

Maple Leafs vs Golden Knights: 3 goals against Andersen, 1 stoppable. 6 goals against Fleury, 1 stoppable.

Canucks vs Kings: 3 goals against Markstrom, 2 stoppable. 3 goals against Quick, 2 stoppable.

Capitals vs Sharks: 1 goal against Holtby, no chance. 4 goals against Jones, 1 stoppable.

So that's 59 goals scored on goalies tonight, 18 are stoppable. That's a bit under 31% of the goals scored tonight were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .917%.

Frederik Andersen has allowed considerably fewer goals that I've counted stoppable this year than most starters in the league, but he's been softy of the night a few times recently. This one was pretty bad and was softy of the night. People have asked me if I nail a goalie on a goal for being stoppable if it's from something that results in a turnover or a mistake that a goalie makes and not necessarily how the shot goes in and I always do, unless his team gains possession of the puck again before the goal is scored.

I don't understand why Fleury is just average this year. I haven't counted many goals as stoppable on him as I have many of the other goalies in the league, especially since he's close to the league lead, if not in the league lead for games and minutes played.

He doesn't look that bad.

I haven't counted many against Quick either, but I understand why Quick allows a lot of goals, because he spends most of the game swimming around and on his ass and bounces around so much. Not sure what's up with Fleury. He looks like one of the better goalies in the league this year on my eye test.

One thing is for certain, he's getting burnt out by now. The backup barely plays there. I couldn't even tell you who the backup is there right now. Probably terrible Legace. It was Subban, but I think he's injured and he barely ever played when he was still healthy.

The long awaited goals against review for tonight. The percentage is gonna be awfully high tonight, just due to our game, if there is anything more than barely any stoppable goals in the other 3 games.

Devils vs Wild: 4 goals against Kinkaid, 3 stoppable. 5 goals against Dubnyk, 4 stoppable.

Rangers vs Sabres: 2 goals against Georgiev, 1 stoppable. 5 goals against Ullmark, 2 stoppable. I think Keith was impersonating him tonight. Couldn't seal the post on one goal and gave the puck away like Kinkaid and Dubnyk in our game.

Oilers vs Hurricanes: 3 goals against Koskinen, no chance on any. 1 goal against McElhinney, no chance. One looked a bit goofy on Koskinen, but was more of a bad break. I didn't nail Koskinen on it upon further replay.

Bruins vs Ducks: 2 goals against Boyle, 1 stoppable. Halak gets the shutout. I don't really ding goalies on goals where they take themselves out of position a bit, because that's way too nitpicky, but the way Kevin Boyle takes himself out of position on the second Bruins goal tonight was very amateurish. He overplayed it by a lot. He overplayed it so much, he looked like he was still moving forward away from the crease even after the puck was already in the back of the net. He looked like a turtle on a shore.

So that's 22 goals scored on goalies tonight, 11 were stoppable. That's 50% of goals scored tonight were stoppable. Wildly skewed by our game. Combined save percentages were .911%.

Really hard to find a softy of the night. Could have been anything from the goal that got Keith yanked to the game tying goal on Dubnyk from Lovejoy to either of the giveaways by each goalie.

This one was really laughable though. Just hysterically bad. It's like he should have seen it, but couldn't locate it at all. It's almost like he lost eyesight momentarily, I don't know how he misses this one.

Philly will win again today

They are blue hot

And yet they're still 6 points out of a playoff spot. It's not easy to make up as much ground as they have to. I could see them running of steam down the stretch. Or getting in and getting the privilege of playing Tampa in the first round.

The Devils/Wild game was probably the worst goaltending duo I’ve seen all season. Strangely enough Cory came in and shut it down.

It was definitely the most poorly goaltended game I think I've seen all season.

There was a game that ended 3-2, where I nailed every goal at stoppable a few weeks back, I think it was the Rangers and Lightning. I also remember a game where I counted 5 stoppable goals on the Buffalo goalies, between the two of them that played in the game, a month or two back, but this might have been the first game I gave out 7 stoppable goals for in one game.

7 of the 9 were really bad.

I said it was ironic that Cory was the only goalie that played in the game that didn't give up a bad goal (or any goal at all), let alone 3-4 like Dubnyk and Kinkaid did a piece.

Let the Flyers be this year's Panthers :P
