I agree, there are too many at Ontario. LaDue has some value though for the organization because he's an RHD, especially for the Reign, and he was praised by Stothers for his excellent game in BAKO the other night as he finally seems to be healthy, but maybe they try and throw him in at the trade deadline as a secondary asset since he'll be a UFA. There is also the possibility of Reddekopp not getting a QO in June, and of course Ryan, Hutton and Forbort are all UFA's plus Martinez is rumored to be on the block, so maybe the logjam will let up a bit next season.

I expect to see lots of Anderson/Bjornfot this season and even more so next season..
One of Forbort/Hutton/Ryan is likley getting signed but Marty is likley headed out for a nice return.
I think Chazz is out in favor of Phillips who i think is better plus we have Moverare and Hults coming next season... Wish we had more size though

Yeah, I just meant for this season. I was saying that back in June, and I was a little surprised they even bothered with Ryan. Then Hutton on top of that, and that's even with the revelation of Forbort being out.

You missed the sarcasm...
Yes, we're loaded to the teeth with Dman with more coming so its time to package some in deals and draft some more

Loaded to the teeth might be stretching things a bit. Most of them are just guys without much value.

It's time to trade Scooby LaDue

LaDue has been Ontario's best dman lately. Reign won't be playoff team without him.

Stanton must be off the ice a very, very good guy, because on the ice he's very, very average.

Honestly I'm getting pretty f***ing sick of Kale Clague watching. He is just not getting it.

Honestly I'm getting pretty ****ing sick of Kale Clague watching. He is just not getting it.
On the game winner, he's a stride behind like usual, but he was preventing the pass as he should be (Cal was off on his angles on both posts all night, all of the goals and the two waved off/reviewed goals came at a sharp angle) as Kupari was just catching up to the player driving the slot, but his big problem was in OT where he turned over the puck not once, but twice, when possession is king. Defensively, he's is still a second or two behind in his positioning way too often. He will not make the next level until he figures that out. And so far, I'm seeing much of the same as last season. He does not think the game fast enough. Mikey and Tobias have already passed him. Still, I'm not going to give up just a few games into his 2nd pro season, but I will be expecting a lot more as the year progresses. Nellie and Glenn Murray were in the Reign suite last night watching the game.

If Kale needs more time in the AHL then by all means leave him there until he figures it out. Having Anderson and Bjornfot buys us some time on Clague. He's a good kid and a smart guy, but yes he still needs to adjust to the pro game.

I've given up hope on him ever getting the defensive side of the game down pat enough to be more than a bottom-pairing d-man. He will flat out be a liability in more minutes as he just doesn't think the game that way.

Time will tell if he gets the offensive side down enough to even be a bottom pairing PP specialist. I used to think he might be a more offensive leaning Alec Martinez, or at best Torey Krug, but he's shown next to no growth on his side of the red line. And it looks more like a brain/IQ issue rather than a 'learning the next level' issue since it was a problem even before being drafted.

Just personal opinion, of course. I'm well aware this is probably the minority opinion. He just has all the Erik Karlsson downside with next to none of the upside.

I think you just described Randy Jones.

Nah, Randy Jones had defensive awareness, just not the abilities to do anything about anything anywhere. Like, he'd stick his guy, but not tie him up. He'd get to the right position, then cough up the puck. He was the strangest player I've ever seen on the Kings.

Clague is frustrating in the Jack Johnson way.
