I was just looking at the box score to check the assists on our goals. But I noticed that McDavid's assist tonight was his 19th of the season, and his 35th point. Holy shit, that is ridiculous.

And yet, because the Oilers won't put a real team around him, he's going to become the Mike Trout of the NHL.

Every time I watch the Oilers I imagine they did the obvious thing and drafted Trevor Zegras instead of Philip Broberg in 2019. Just a brutal, brutal mistake.

This team just has Brunette's fingerprints all over it. We look too much like that Panthers team from last year. I think we're actually even better than them.

There's way too many characteristics. The Panthers would come out of nowhere and erupt for a bunch of goals. I could be wrong, but I don't think they were score effected as much as most teams (we definitely aren't) and could strike out of nowhere and erupt for a bunch of shots/zone time/rushes/goals.

I gushed over that Panthers team last year. We are about as fun to watch but, not as loose defensively.

If we shit the bed in round 2 against a dynastic team + first ballot HOF goalie standing on his head, every Devils fan would sign up for that. Our timelines aren't the same when these seasons occurred.
