I don’t think they can. Maybe adding Sagieon or Brazeau and another defencemen could bring them close, but Ottawa would/could/should spend some of their picks and get even stronger.
It’s the beginning of December, but IMO it seems destined for man Ottawa-London final. I’ll take Ottawa to win it.

How does Saginaw not get a star in this game? It isn’t like Niagara won 6-0. Who picks the 3 stars? It’s embarrassing that Niagara routinely takes all 3 stars when there is an opposing player that is worthy of 1. Coskey had 3 points for Saginaw. That was more than Lodnia’s 2 point performance that earned him 2nd star.
I truly believe the CHL needs to adopt the same format as the IIHF and choose a player of the game from each team. That would eliminate the home town biases.

I’m not saying that only Niagara does this. Other teams are just as guilty. I just think that there needs to be something better. Something less biased.
IceDogs survive a pesky North Bay team 5 to 2 with a couple of empty net goals before a packed house of 5,300 fans.
Season series is even now. N Bay was 2-1-0 against Niagara coming into this game.

It’s been discussed before and I know it often makes little sense (depending on the team) but it’s more really about marketing the team from what I’ve heard and it makes sense to an extent. Though it shouldn’t be downright embarrassing the way it sometimes is.
On an evening before Christmas, here in Dogs land,
All the fans are stirring, results in demand.
Mama in Section 118, pops in 101,
Disagree about playoff hopes but agree would be fun!
All those draft picks in order, in a depth chart with care,
Hoping a power forward or a quarterback D, would be there.
Then what to their wondering eyes should appear so delictory,
A Thursday nite tilt, a 6-5 victory.
Then on to the Battalion, a 5th place squad quite weak,
Another two points, must be a streak.
More rapid than eagles, those folks saw the works,
You better skate like the wind, when you play for the Burkes.
On Thomas, Maksimov, Martin, Lodnia,
Thomasino, Philip, Moore and Sopa.
There's Roberts, Paquette, Hunter and Moore,
Uberti, Desimmone, Howard and Bruder.
Sparaglia, Dhillon, Constantineau, Ham and Jones,
Incze, Schaefer, Bukac and Bones!
So down the rink, these boys all flew, with precision and pace...
And Robertson too.
He was dressed in home colours, some say a little cocky,
WHOOO CARES, two more points vs. Saginau, this boy can play hockey!
He spoke not a word, anything said came straight from his stick,
One night's work, five points, three goals...well...that's a hat trick.
Some happy Dawgs to their team whistles and cheers,
Ma and Pa now seated together, no more fears,
And I heard them exclaim on that wonderful night,
"Merry Christmas to all, this team is alright!"

Just rename it "3 Stars of the Home Team" are........most teams do it bunch of BS.

I've never found this to be the case in Hamilton. Then again, the team always has a "hardest working Bulldog" award before the stars get announced, so some player is always getting a shout-out.
Ice Dogs shade Hamilton 4 to 3 tonight in what turned out to be a barn burner before 4,540 fans Lodnia two goals to pace the IceDogs .
