TSN laughing at the pathetic offer sheet by Bergevin.

They have 12M cap space not even counting the one they can get sending awful Alzner elesewhere.

5th best team in division right now. And all quality UFA already signed.

Best case they spend on Gardiner!

I have this feeling in my gut that the Bruins are going to be trading Backes (no info or anything) in the next few days and signing Ferland for 3 years shortly after.

then again I had a gut feeling the Bruins were going to win game 7 as I drove down I90 towards the city....

They’ll have to move someone with Backes being the most likely. They have no one but themselves to blame for that

Glad that the Habs are losing on all these players and also won’t get Aho.

5th best team in division.

3rd consecutive DNQ in 19-20.

This offer sheet seems a little disingenuous to me. I can't see how Carolina lets Aho go for what the Habs have offered. Seems like they just want to be able to say "hey , we tried" when they know full well it's not going to happen. Apparently Carolina has a pole going where they are asking 'WILL WE MATCH? YES or OUI.

Keep going on twitter every morning hoping that the first thing I see is “Backes traded”. Keeping hope alive.
I’m losing hope a little I leave him down in the minors . Look it might not be the most professional thing in the world but they give them no choice.

Would you give your best player to a direct rival for a 1st-2nd-3rd?

Zero chance the Canes don’t match. If not, GM should be fired and team moved to Quebec.

I don't doubt it for a second. That's why I question the Habs management ? Looks like window dressing and nothing more.
See they can match it . If they choose trade him in the West Conference and have Joe Hags tell us he’s a good fit until they ask for the bruins best players and talks die.

Why they wouldn't

1)Because the $22 million in bonuses in year one exceeds their ticket revenue
2)Because the total salary expenditure in year one is approaching their total revenue

For a team that's already losing money before revenue sharing, that's a tough pill to swallow

Exactly, you'd be nuts to give up a 22 year old who put up 83 points for that return. The GM who should be fired is the clown in Montreal who thinks he's fooling his fan base with this feeble attempt when he knows the odds are slim. LeBrun said last week that you don't offer sheet unless you think there is a very good chance it will succeed, guess Bergevin didn't listen . There is almost no chance this succeeds.

Still, you invest the money , wait a year, get the right return .

OK, I think I have this right. I listed all of the transactions since June that involved an AAV of over $3M.

AGE = age of player at end of this new contract.

There are a few that I think are not bad. There are also some that I think are just going to work out very badly indeed. Top two for me in that category are Bobrovsky and Hayes.

Well I think they thought they might have had a chance by giving Aho a ton of cash in the first and second years of the deal. If I had read correctly Car will have to pay around 20 mil in bonuses and salary in the first year.
