In the post whistle scrum, unless the refs come in (the Certified Scrum Masters), things can get out of hand.

If things get bad, penalties get handed out. But if things get REALLY bad, the league is able to issue suspensions.

I guess you could say the league... Kanban.

Salt in the wound timing...

The timing of this is a little strange. I mean, the addition of Fast and another pretty good draft doesn’t really necessitate an “offseason” report show. Unless...they perhaps have a certain young Russian’s bridge contract or a Hamilton extension to announce. That’d be pretty cool, but other than something like that, I struggle to see what they’d fill up the time with.

I don' think the timing is mystery if they just announced that from now on you can only see Fox Sport on cable, and now the cable company wants to scoop the cut-off people as their customers while they're off-balance.

In this situation, if they got nothing to broadcast they will make stuff up.

I don’t know. I mean, it makes sense for a bunch of streaming services to drop sports channels if there’s not going to be any new sports content available for the next 2-3 months, right? They can always add the channels back right before sports come back again.

I still find it odd timing since they’ve never done anything like it before, but there’s also never been an offseason like this so they may just want to remind their TV audience that they still exist. I’ll hold out irrational hope that they’ll announce some sort of contract extension or something exciting...

Good point, but it also makes sense for the cable companies to use the situation to try to gouge the perplexed audiences and sign them for long-term bargain offer contracts during this time of (audiencial) uncertainty.

They are in the business of making money to their owners. It would be close to criminal if they didn't try it. If I was the cable company, I would stall the negotiations on the nigh-certain streaming contract extension with some technicality until close to the season start and use the time meanwhile to lure the cord-cutters back to long fixed-term contracts with promises of exclusive content while the Hulu/Youtube cooperation is terminated, at least officially.

Do cable companies in Finland still have contracts with their subscribers? At least in this area of the US, they got rid of those. If I hate it, I can always leave at any time and pay the prorated monthly bill as I toss them their equipment.

The way I understand it, we got three big broadband internet operators Telia, Elisa and DNA, who also are the three big mobile operators, and who pretty much bought all the local cable TV providers, so in towns you got one available to you as a private end user. All of them also got their own entertainment service. So cable is one option (albeit limited) available to you, but in practice it doesn't much differ from the broadband based ones.

Shane Willis will interview Mike Maniscalco about his new role. Then Mike Maniscalco will interview Shane Willis about fun Canes memories. Then Stormy will drop by for some “surprise” hijinks.

Then they’ll look at the clock at it’s 7:10 and they’ll both start visibly sweating.

If there is a signing I would guess it would be Dougie. Dundon sounded like he wanted to keep him in his podcast interview. Then they waited for Pietrangelo to sign. From that point hopefully it was as simple as "OK Petro gets $8.8 million x 7 so let's do $7.8 million x 8 and make these uncertain times certain."

Dougie gets the biggest contract of the offseason. Canes get their top-pair RHD locked up.
