18-21 - 3 years
22-23 - 2 years

It's remote at this point. Sakic is pumping his tires in interviews, but Butcher probably wants to test free agency. Maybe he has delusions of going straight to the NHL somewhere even though nobody will offer that.

Someone will promise the opportunity, and he won't make it out of camp imo.

Be nice to sign him. We'd have a few contenders then for that last pairing (and they'd be very solid) in Butcher, Mirinov, Barberio, Lindholm, Siemens (potentially) & Bigras. Not sure how others are going in Meloche and things. We MAY even have Heiskanen (but I think he'd need more development). The prospect pool is certainly increasing though.

Ain't nobody promising Butcher s***, he'll be in the AHL next year regardless of whether he signs with us or someone else.
