Lettieri from Pedrie and Bigras ties it with 3:30 to go. Pack have come from 3 down and a goalie change.
What a terrible first period on Military appreciation night... just terrible. Maybe even so terrible, they might accuse the WP to have weapons of mass destruction and send troops to the XL Center to invade *lol*
Joey Leach and Hubert Labrie both -2, and playing over Crawley and Zborovskiy. Been that way for a few weeks now.

I've only seen one of his AHL games. I watched a lot of his Junior games, when I didn't think he was that good. And how many of these AHL games have you watched?

I didn't think he was that good coming out of the WHL, then he gets assigned to the ECHL, and now he can't find a spot on a defensively-deficient AHL team. I never thought he was that good, and even having only seen him once this year, the rest of the evidence seems to support my belief.
Pionk and Gilmour look fine. I wouldn't blame the Rangers organization, we never lost a player that went on a rampage with another team.I wouldn't be trusting the Rangers organization right now when it comes to defensive prospects. They've done a terrible job in recent years in this area, and I think there's a fundamental problem with what they want out of the defense. Either way, I completely disagree. He looked really good in juniors, seemingly was doing well in the ECHL if he kept getting called up, and the reviews posted here from Beacon about his AHL play were pretty good. He didn't play many AHL games though, so we aren't going off much.
But whoever it is, I don't think AHL plugs should be playing over the team's prospects. I don't see how that makes any sense. And if you think one of your prospects isn't ready for the AHL, why is he sitting in the stands in the AHL instead of playing in the ECHL?

How have we done a bad job with defensive prospects? I mean I know you loved Graves and are obviously unhappy the team didn't share your opinion, but otherwise I think we've done fine. I can't think of anything we screwed up. We really haven't even had that many.I wouldn't be trusting the Rangers organization right now when it comes to defensive prospects. I remember Beacon saying several times about Zborovskiy's skating that it kind of sucks. That that is holding him back a lot. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll chime in to say so. But one way or the other the additions of Hajek, Lindgren and Rykov just made things a whole lot tougher in the near future for guys like Zborovskiy, Day, Sjalin, Reunanen, Nanne, Pedrie and Crawley. Zborovskiy may be the worst skater in the entire bunch.
It will also be interesting if Bereglazov is in camp again next year too. He's got that bit of AHL experience now and he's got a lot better idea of whatever adjustments needing to be made. He could surprise.
I was refering to the developing of defensemen. Anyway, Staal buyout is worse than Girardi and he can play better with a different system, maybe even better than Girardi. Stralman decision was asinine, plain and simple. O'Gara is just playing for the tank.We went from having the best defense in the NHL a few seasons ago to probably the worst in the NHL right now.
When we went to the finals, we had at least four top 4 defensemen with McDonagh, Stralman, Girardi and Staal, might've even been four top 2-3 defensemen. We are less than four years removed from that. Now we are icing the Rob O'Gara's of the world.
Pionk and Gilmour look fine as bottom pairing defensemen. The only top 4 they've added is Skjei, and I guess maybe Shattenkirk, but he was a UFA who I'm not even sure it was smart to add. They signed Dan Boyle instead of Stralman. Bought out Staal instead of Girardi who's playing well in the top 4 for the best team in the league. They signed Brendan Smith to a long-term contract because he had good advanced stats, even though his on-ice play sucked. They traded for DeAngelo as a big part of the Stepan trade, and he sucks. Doesn't even look like an NHL'er. He's getting outplayed by Pionk and Gilmour, two players who signed as free agents.
I don't know how anyone could be happy with how this organization has handled the defense the last few years.

I don't remember anything specific about what Beacon said about Zborovskiy other than mentioning some skating concerns, which has always been the concern. Either way, Beacon and I don't always agree in our evaluations, so what he saw in a couple games isn't going to change my opinion that I've developed over a few years.
Finally, I agree that it's unwise that Zborovskiy is just sitting, and said as much.
