Speaking of Knuble and goalie interference. How about him getting called for it in game 7 against Halak and the Habs in 2010 which would have tied the game. Was at that one and I still don't know what he did to make it interference.

Knuble also interfered with Tim Thomas in game 7 OT against the Bruins in 2012, but fortunately that non-call went in the Caps favor for once.

I would like to see some speed plays. Try and hit home runs to Hagelin and friends via simple lofts, if the stretch pass is out of question. Last year we saw set plays to start games, where Willy would look for Ovi at the far blue - I am not seeing that stuff.

I didn't get the feeling at any point that they brought in Hagelin for the 4th line. Reirden said several times that the 4th line assignment was to get comfortable. He seemed to be chomping at the bit to get him up the lineup.

He’s been a good addition but he doesn’t really have a track record of putting up big numbers

While a loss on Wed would not be as bad as prior to the cup, it will be a let down. I know the canes came on strong at the end of the year, but they don't have our horses. It would be one thing to lose a 7 game series to Boston/TB where we were going toe to toe, but to have half the team or more not show up, play slow and sloppy, get blown out twice, its not fun. I still have hope we win game 7, and then wake up vs NYI, but right now this team looks like its back to pre 2018 caps playoff hockey. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty down right now.

I am convinced the only reason it was not called back/reviewed was because our players stormed the ice, being OT and all.

The league fearing what a big long (coin flip in the end) review would do to the image of the game. Seriously, I didn't celebrate proper for about 10 minutes. I am still stunned that we got a call.

The league no longer wants marathon games. It is a marketing directive since using NBC. They start calling penalties.... like that Philly game 7 on Poti when someone stepped on his stick at center ice, as harmless as a penalty we will see.

I don't know who will win or who will lose but I would bet my right arm Ovechkin comes out blazing.

A pissed off Ovechkin is a the best thing ever. I'm pretty excited for tomorrow actually.

It's so nice to not have the stress of "Oh god, another year were they have to scratch and claw through a series then lose a heart breaker and we fans are left with a long summer of what if's and another wasted season, etc.". It is so liberating!!!

Where did I say that he did? Listening to Reirden talk he wants to use Hagelin up and down the lineup regardless of his numbers.

There's a stand outside Sec 105 I think that has decent shredded pork - iirc they call it something other than barbecue - but it would be a great promo for them or Red Hot & Blue or Famous Dave's or some other joint to set up a spit outside COA with a mock Canes theme. Need someone with better marketing skills than I have to come up with a name. "Dougie the Pig"? "Shredded Canes"?

Hockey is hard. Carolina is good. Enjoy the ride. Get behind the boys and give them your all. They earned that type of loyalty after last year.

Looking at the rest of the field it will be a huge let down.


The prospect of repeating given the remaining teams on both sides is very real if we can get past CAR.
