If Vegas wins the cup then 106% of that team will go into the Hall. Including MAF.

I didn't think he goes in before. With a cup here and a Smythe I think he has a conversation around him.

If Detroit had won the final in 09, Osgood would most likely won the Conn Smythe. It was either him or Zetterberg again. Alternatively Malkin would have won it anyway, even in a loss.

Except Osgood lets in 2 weak ones from noted Sniper Max Talbot....

Eh, he would still be a tough sale even if he adds a cup and/or smythe. It's insanely difficult for a goalie to make the HHOF as it is. Barasso should still be in before him as well as a handful of other deserving goalies. If MAF could lock down one amazing season (a Vezina or the lead in GAA/SV%) I think he would start being part of the conversation. If they start opening the doors up a bit, I would absolutely love to see MAF inducted one day.

I can't remember both being weak. But, is there a point to this? Penguins only scored two. When the Red Wings can't score at least three or more, they don't deserve to win the game regardless. It's not on the goalie.

Just a quick reminder that consistency is THE most valuable trait in a starting goalie.

Half a season of good play and tagging along with stacked teams is not and should not be enough to get into the HoF

The hall is the weirdest place. I mean it seems like any half decent skater gets in, but it’s almost impossible for a goalie.

Since 1945 there have been 35 goalies selected to the hall of fame.

Last one selected was rogie vachon. And only 6 were selected in the past 28 years (1990).

Maybe. There are players of equal or even lesser esteem there already.

I mean he could end up top 3
In wins by the end of his career.

3 cups 2’finals. 500 wins. Would have to be pretty close

Not a first ballot, but when there isn't anybody left to induct, he'll likely be a pick. Like Belfour, Gilmour, and Kariya.

Has a gold medal, three cups and bound for 500 wins. That should just get you in.

Also, Vegas should worry about signing him to a long-term extension this off-season as I read Vegas wants to retire in Vegas. Will probably be the first number they retire.

Is fleury really the 37th best goalie to ever play the game? 35 goalies have been selected (36th is brodeur).
