Regarding Tymkin and his performance this season: If you look back at his body of work, he initially got his spot on the roster as a throwback enforcer type. A player who stuck up for teamates, and a willingness to drop the mitts when needed...and at times when it wasn't really needed. He established a reputation as a player not to be messed with, and the coaching staff recognized this.

He was then tasked with cutting down on the needless penalties, and his role was re-defined as being the guy in front
of the net during power plays, to screen the goaltender, take the abuse without retalliation, and pot a few garbage type goals. He did that with some measure of success, and he began contributing goals. This season, his role was assigned to Regula, who became the player in fromt of the net, during power plays, and Tymkin's purpose did not appear to be clearly defined, so he plays as such...with NO defined role.

It's the coaching staff's responsibility to get the most out of the players they have. A good staff does so by giving assignments that play to any given players' strengths. Tymkin has proven to be a player who will take direction, will adapt to what is asked of him, and will be responsible for shaving back penalty minutes when so directed.

Players just don't regress on their own, They do so when allowed to, without correction or direction.

Anyone is free to disagree,
Well written and thought out.
Never looked at Tymkin the way you explained it.
Please write more often.

Regarding the TBT.
My wife and I got a real kick out of watching all the kids down by the glass trying to toss the bears over the glass on to the ice
They were having a blast and makes you warm and fuzzy inside.
It was All good.

Knights win 3-1 over Guelph, and force a deciding game in their best-of-9 playoff series. :naughty:
I don't know how much more I can take watching Keane. He has to go.
Guskov has been a disappointment. An import forward who struggles to generate offence. As well, today he turns over the puck, and then takes a penalty.
PP has struggled of late, but Guelph's PK deserves some credit.
Foudy is skating well; Regula has been a stud.
It's not going to be pretty watching this team in the next few weeks without some key players in the lineup. 11 games without our best players. Ouch! The second PP unit does not look comfortable, and give up shorthanded chances. Stranges had a quiet game.

With Steklov out, who else are you going to throw into a top 4 spot?

Keane's not great, but he's our best option in the #4 slot at the moment. If we lose Regula and/or Skinner to Team USA as well, it could get ugly real fast!

London Knights: 3-1 win in Guelph
By: Ryan Pyette

“We had a lot of reasons to come in here and do well,” said Connor McMichael, who had two assists and departs as the league’s leading scorer with 59 points. “Especially with how last year went. This doesn’t make up for it – not even close. But we didn’t have the best weekend and came away with these two points.
“It’s a good character win.”
Ryan Merkley, the Sharks first-rounder was sent out to take the ceremonial opening faceoff by London co-captain Liam Foudy and heard some boos. He was jeered throughout the afternoon and finished it escorted from the ice for helping spark a post-game scrum.
“During the national anthem, I got a little shakes in the legs for the first time in a while,” the 19-year-old said with a grin. “It was something new. I thought I did a great job defensively.
“I was excited. I don’t mind (about the boos). The fans pay to watch the game. It’s free speech. I like that stuff. It was good and fun.”
“He’s a really great player,” McMichael said. “Obviously, they’re not happy he’s with us now and I wouldn’t be either if he left there and (after a stint in Peterborough) ended up with us.”
Guelph GM/coach George Burnett called Merkley an exceptional talent and suggested he was happy to see him doing well.
“His ability is undeniable,” the leading candidate for OHL coach of the year said. “It’s a little bit surprising to see him not at the world junior camp. In the games I’ve watched and the scouting we do, he’s been terrific. He sees and creates offence better than anybody.
“He did it again (against us) and that’s not a surprise to me.”
Knights shut down Storm in Merkley's return and Dylan Hunter's coaching debut

Looks like today USA Hockey announces their preliminary roster for the WJC. All of the coaches named are from the NCAA. Only their GM John Vanbiesbrouck has any real exposure to the CHL? Surprised a little after his rather significant “faux pas” in the Soo all those years ago he seems to have rebuilt his reputation?

I think we could see Gruden as the only Knights player on the roster. Looking through the projected rosters his name is the only one that I've seen

Being selfish...but I kinda hope the projections are correct and we keep Regula and Skinner for the next month

Good point Buttsy. Bieser owned the Hounds before stepping down over his remarks.
I've been impressed with Regula and Skinner. They both have the Size, Speed, Hockey IQ,
Defensive acumen, Puck-Handling, Good Shot and Toughness.
Skinner has been a nice surprise add-on by Mark and staff. Personally, I'd like to see the Knights represented by Regula, Skinner and/or Gruden. The USA Head Coach played a few games for the Habs. Hope he's open and not a bitter boy. ;)

Keane has been inconsistent with his over-all play. Sometimes the 'simple play' is best.
Knights have the 'young guys ready to go.
Keane, Winslow, Montgomery and Roger will all get a chance to show their stuff.
Logan Mailloux is #3 in scoring for D-Men in the GOJHL. Hope to see him.
