It's funny you mention that cause when I watched Gravity it felt like I was a watching an IMAX movie, the visual effects were amazing and no doubt a great cinematic experience but as a movie I've watched porn that had a more interesting plot, characters and script

As for Interstellar could only suffer through 2 hrs of an orange-mumbling MM in the one sitting, will try and watch the rest today

The plot of Gravity was very simple and I can see where people come from when they say it was boring. The visuals were amazing though. IMAX or bust.

As for Interstellar, I left the theater wanting more. It was good entertainment but I was lost in some parts of the movie. Also the casting sucked. Anne Hattaway? Really?

God forbid they make more movies like Gravity with simple plots.

I prefer movies like the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, which has 8 or 9 leads, and where a lot of story points are set up for subsequent movies to look into.

Hey guys,

I just realized that the soundtrack from the first part of that epic '42' trailer:

Is actually taken from the song 'Run boy run' by Woodkid. (yeah, sorry about being like, 3 years late)

I mean, there was absolutely no racist intent in that song (Woodkid was talking about his childhood there) and there certainly was no racist intent in the movie 42.

But the whole thing just sort of feels... uneasy. And I'm certainly not easily offended by that kind of stuff.

Or maybe it was done in a sort of sarcastic way. I mean, it's all fine and dandy... but 'Run boy run' for a movie about Jackie Robinson... I don't know.

I thought interstellar was brilliant conceptually, hollywood ending turned me off, but overall I really enjoyed it and I left the theatre thinking how it was the best movie I've seen in a long time - as always when Nolan's behind it.

I've liked if not loved most of Nolan's work, Interstellar was more like a M Night movie tho, meh acting and dragging random story to set up a twist ending - full marks on cinematography but the movie ranks up with that other MM snoozer Contact for me as one of the 'worst best' movies

Interesting comparison...

For me, the problem with Gravity wasn't that the plot is simple, but rather that it's dumb. Like, having Sandra Bullock jumping around from one space station to the other... Dumb.

That movie should have been a 'huis-clos', but in space... with Bullock and Clooney stuck out there for 2h.

You didn't like him falling into a black hole and coming out completely fine somewhere near Earth?

Also replace the female lead by a male lead and it would had had far less traction. It's my perception and I'm sticking to it.

I watched the new Divergent movie. It's mostly quite bad, though partly redeemed because there's a scene where Jai Courtney gets killed.

Grade: D

Yeah pretty much, between the dream & sim sequences there wasn't much substance - Hunger Games meets the Matrix - basically a vehicle for the special effects guy to play with his new CGI shattering and evaporation effects, seems to be common theme of many movies these days - reminds me of the line by Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park about the scientists spending so much time trying to see if they could without asking if they should

Watching I am legend on tv. This movie would be so much better if they actually tried to make the cg "Zombies" to look good or scary in any way. It really does kill it for me.

Edit:im getting to the end and imo will smith was excellent in this movie. If it wasn't for the zombies it would probably be one of my favourite sole survivor movies.

Forgot how epic the fight scene at Castle Black was on the 2nd to last episode of season 4. Damn, so glad I rewatched the series before season 5 starts!

I dont think they went with run boy run , for that..

its just the tempo of the song.

(otherwise youd be offended to hear Run boy Run in a Reebok and Toyota commercial which are actually running now. )
