Catching up on few shows, The Affair's first two episodes in S5, have delivered as expected. Great acting performances and an intriguing new storyline emerges.

On Becoming a God in Central Florida has been enjoyable. A little slow to come off the gates, the first half of the opening episode gives the mistaken impression that it's going into a heavily cliched direction but then an unexpected turn of events changes everything and this is where Kirsten Dunst has been shining through to episode 3 that aired yesterday on HBO.

Finally, caught a 2-hour documentary about the HIV scare that afflicted the adult industry in 1998, Porndemic on HBO, which was about an hour and 30 minutes too long, lol. It was slow and repetitive as they tried to create drama around who "patient zero" was -- that's the name they assigned to the performer who had the first strain of HIV, who avoided and delayed getting tested and who ended up infecting several partners. What was particularly interesting is how in order to locate patient zero, they had to wade through an endless list of partners for each of the actresses who contracted HIV and to then realize there was this one performer who had been with all of them.

He was predictably ostracized by the industry and ended up snorting all of the money he'd made as a performer of over 1700 films. And is now living in a trailer and can't afford anything. Didn't see fit to use spoilers, no one is likely to watch this bunk.

Caught S2 of Legit on FX, featuring Jim Jefferies and a host of misfits and it’s been hilarious. Split a gut on Episode 9 «Licked. »

Episode 1 is just as hilarious as Jefferies provides the nuances of what is a “nice girl.”

Now looking for S1. Adult subject matter.

Pennyworth ep. 1 is terrific. I'm already hooked. It's like Agent Carter on steroids. Great cast and production.

On the other hand - Another Life.
First Contact pseudo sci-fi. The first FTL ship is sent out to meet aliens that have deposited a huge, mysterious crystal object on Earth. The crew are a gang of totally undisciplined sociopaths. Can't imagine someone decided to produce this drivel. Gag-worthy.

Pennyworth is showing on Epix, apparently. Never heard of this streaming service.

JJ rocks

I hope he never quits drinking lol

I knew Jefferies was a good standup and had solid material but he shines in this Legit sitcom even if the acting from some of the cast is average. Some of the funniest stuff I've seen this year. If you or anyone ends up watching it, please provide some feedback.

Just noticed that some Legit episodes are on YouTube.

I'm becoming obsessed with JOKER. Haven't anticipated a film this much since The Revenant.

It's like this perfect climax of an actor and a character. In my wildest dreams I couldn't even imagine a better pairing.

I'm just afraid I've hyped it up so much in my mind that the production can't possibly live up to it.
Agreed, its really the only movie that excites me right now. I'm.confident JP is going to nail it.

The Affair is starting its S5 tonight, sadly its final season.

If you haven’t been following it, do yourself a favor and binge watch it — it’s one of HBO’s best series hands down.
Tried The Affair before and itbjust didn't seem to appeal to me, but neither did Westworld and I've decided to.give westworld another chance and I must say I quite liked it this second time around.

I've seen many positive reviews about The affair, so I think it warrants a second look.

I saw the series a few years ago. Completely outrageous, just like his comedy. The mom (Mindy Sterling) was hilarious.

I've had the same experience with some shows that were highly recommended in here. I've even attempted to watch them over and it didn't work for me.

Just proves how personal taste is, even about a highly rated or highly recommended series.

David Spade killing it on his show, Lights Out.

He’s finding a groove and his material is getting better. Of course, his delivery and facial expressions make a big difference but there’s also plenty of repartee with his guests.

Bill Hader was asked to do a video about what he would say to his younger self. He made this and it's getting a lot of attention.

I never cared much for Spade or most of the others from that forgettable era of SNL. Maybe I'll take another look.

I was never a big fan but I found that his current role in a a 30 minute nightly segment, suits him perfectly.

He always has fellow comedians on, there is a bunch of stuff he lifts from the news and the internet however, he'll feature more racy stuff. He mixes that in with bits of his own and a some cheesy stuff he'll call out. The first week was kind of stumbling, which is normal for a new show but it seems to be forging an identity.

Spade has an absolutely insane story about his assistant trying to kill him. He told it on the Maron podcast or the Norm Macdonald one. Has nothing to do with him as a performer but it’s wild.

As for Hader, Barry has convinced me that the man is brilliant.
